CFS Macro Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen API MACRO CFS Version of a WWII ground vehicle. The VW Type 166 Schwimmwagen (literally Floating Swimming Car) were amphibious four-wheel drive off-roaders, used extensively by the German forces during the Second World War. The Type 166 is the most numerous mass-produced amphibious car in history. All Schwimmwagen were four wheel drive only on first gear (and reverse gears with some models) and had ZF self-locking differentials on both front and rear axles. Just like the K belwagen, the Schwimmwagen had portal gear rear hubs that gave better ground clearance, while at the same time reducing drive-line torque stresses with their gear reduction at the wheels. When crossing water a screw propeller could be lowered down from the rear deck engine cover

For reversing in the water there was the choice of using the standard equipment paddle or running the land drive in reverse, allowing the wheel-rotation to slowly take the vehicle back. The front wheels doubled up as rudders, so steering was done with the steering wheel both on land and on water. All information to develop the api macros and the textures, was taken from the site www. o5m6. de, Engines of the Wehrmacht, with the webmasters permission. I have created this api macro with Easy Object Designer (EOD), Version 2. 2. 85 (Matthias Br ckner), to generate the static Volkswagen Type 166 Schwimmwagen, with use of BMP transparent textures, oriented to CFS scenery designers and that they work with Airport 2. 0 or later. This macro was tested only in CFS1 sceneries, but I believe that can work without problems in CFS2-3 and FS2000-2002. All mine API macros, could be included on objects libraries with crash detection (for CFS missions), but must be distributed with the original API-MACRO copyright.
