Bassingbourn, Station 121. This base, located in Cambridgeshire 3.5 miles north west of Royston, was transferred to the 8th U.S.A.A.F. Command in october 1942. The 91st B.G. stayed here until june 1945. The Ragged Irregulars commanded by Colonel Stanley Wray moved here from Kimbolton. This was the base of the B-17 Memphis Belle. The 91st B.G. flew 340 missions, losing 197 B-17s.
