Virtual Airlines news and articles Today, EuroHarmony, one of the most progressive virtual airlines has released their 2001 results and their statistical expectations of 2002. They have also stated the projects in 2002 and the goals they want to achieve. EuroHarmony’s PR Manager Marin Licina has also announced the opening of two new hubs to complement the 4 EuroHarmony already uses.

The virtual airline also promises to be even more pilot-oriented and provide even more resource to its pilots like charts, flight plans, aircraft add-ons as well as full FS2002 compatibility.

The results the virtual airline made in 2001 are quite surprising, seeing that it was founded in late April 2001 and only started full-scale international operations in July. Since July, the airline has launched three new web-site versions, a thirty aircraft fleet and several site-integrated systems like the fully-searchable flight database which contains all of its 1000+ flights throughout Europe and all over the world. They have also proven their dedication and quality by being accepted as members of virtualairlines.com, VATSIM, and teaming up with several other virtual organizations like Clearance Unlimited, Air Hungary, Canada Airlines and VASM.

When 2001 ended the glorious results proved EuroHarmony was here to stay as during less than 6 months of full-scale operations, EuroHarmony has recruited over 300 pilots which completed 1625 flights with the total duration of over 1780 hours. The airline has also carried over 70.000 virtual passengers. The most active of the four hubs was Stockholm Arlanda (ESSA) which seemed quite a surprise as the most popular HUB was Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM).
In the end, it seemed logical that the pilot with most hours for EuroHarmony must come from the ESSA hub and this was true indeed, as Senior Commercial Captain Thomas Paine won this title by logging over 250 hours for his hub. ESSA’s hub captain, Massimo Panizzolo came second in this close contest by logging over 210 hours.

After proving that their airline can compete with the best, the EuroHarmony management also decided to improve the va even further, showing everyone how far they really can go. There are several development projects undergoing, and they were all introduced publicly. These projects are:

- Flight submission system reorganization
- Complete Operations manual covering all aspects of the va
- Full FS2002 compatibility with a FS2002 fleet
- Interactive tour of EuroHarmony for new pilots
- Creation of flight plans for all(!!!) their flights
- New aircraft to complement the existing fleet
- Two new European hubs which will be announced soon

The virtual airline also expects to recruit between 800 and 1000 pilots in 2002, and complete over 50.000 flight hours. “These expectations and projects are quite realistic and intended to expand our virtual airline even further to the point where we are one of the community leaders”, stated Gergely Kosa, EuroHarmony’s CEO. He added: “We want to stay very pilot friendly and personal as big va’s usually become very impersonal, we want to prevent this from happening.”

It seems like EuroHarmony knows where it’s going and how to get there. They have certainly proven that they do posses the high degree of dedication and professionalism to succeed at the top, so only time will tell if they will get there.
