E-D Glasses & products from eDimensional

I just received a pair of E-D Glasses from eDimensional for testing and review.

I started up Microsoft "Combat Flight Simulator". The view was amazing. Everything seemed to be in 3D. You could see the hills, runway, enemy planes, trees, and other objects on a "Virtual reality" impressive view.

The main difference between the wired and wireless Glasses is that the first one needs a cable connected to your PC thus limiting your movements. Both are lightweight and wear like normal sunglasses and can be user over your optical glasses with no problem.

The test was done on the following system: CPU: AMD Athlon 1000 MHz, RAM: 256 MB PC 100, Video: PowerColor Geforce2 MX 100/200, OS: Windows 98se.

The included driver CD has Direct X v7a drivers but I had already installed direct X v8.0 also comes with one installation CD. If you don’t have a NVidia GPU based video card you must install the drivers that comes with it. If you have a NVidia based card you must download the latest stereo drivers from NVidia website. Once installed the drivers and plugged the glasses into the PC and I were ready to play.

It was time to go flying and I started up Microsoft "Combat Flight Simulator". The view was amazing. Everything seemed to be in 3D. You could see the hills, runway, enemy planes, trees, and other objects on a "Virtual reality" impressive view. You are seeing through your monitor and you can almost touch things. It also gives you a better idea of your height with relation to the ground and enhances the feeling of actually being in a cockpit. There was no loss of frame rate with the 3D effect on (Control-T toggles Stereo on-off, Shift-Z gives you the frame rate on CFS). Everything seemed to appear smooth and fluid.

I also use the glasses with "Combat FS 2", "Flight Simulator 2000" and the new "Flight Simulator 2002" with more impressive results, thanks to the power full graphics engine on both programs and the improved Direct3D programming. Your enemies, co-pilot and passengers will want to have these glasses also! I tried out the old CFS and new FS2002 virtual cockpit mode and look great in stereo 3D.

I also try the demos included and the results continues to be amazing, on sports simulation, role-play games and every game demo included with the product.

WARNING: the use of the E-D Glasses could become very addictive.

In conclusion the E-D glasses are a high end 3D stereo system at a very low and affordable price. With this product you will be able to play almost all Direct3D games on the market and every new one that will arrive on the future, on a virtual reality 3D environment.

I highly recommend this glasses, you can buy now (Put on "Where you heard about us" the word surclaro, in order to get a free 3D Photos CD ) the Wired E-D Glasses at $69.95 and the Wireless E-D Glasses at $99.95 from eDimensional store. They ships international, same day, have 30 days money-back guarantee and 24/7 support.
