BAS HACKED!

Posted on Mar 27 2002 03:43:41 PM by webmaster (2559 views)
Virtual Airlines news and articles At approximately 11:45GMT Saturday night British Airways Simulated was hacked. British Airways Simulated is spread over a mass of 3 server, sadly the main server was hit. This caused all information to be lost, all pages, images and information were lost in the incident. Luckily the day before a pilot count had been established, so all pilots who were on the server before the hacking will be on when BAS reopens.

As above we have the information that the hacking took place at 11:45 it wasnt until Glenn Gilfillan came on at 12.30 the alarm was raised. At this the entire British Airways Simulated management were online to deal with it. Both CEOs, Assistant, Engineer, and Managers all worked together throughout the night to try and resume services, FSPlanet.com were also close at hand for help. We eventually stopped at around 10am. At this time we then knew after being in contact with our hosts that the website could not be restored.

After a vigorous 2hour meeting the management decided that BAS would be kept open. Obviously a huge amount of work is needed to rebuild the entire website. As I speak our web design team is working to restore services for the pilots.

The first pages to be added will be the PIREPs, Route, and Roster pages. This will enable you the pilot to continue flying with BAS while we concentrate on rebuilding the rest of the site.

BAS now have proof that it was Paul Cairns who hacked BAS, He worked in conjunction with Steffen Langheim to perform the illegal action.

If anybody has any information about the above 2 people please email Joseph Cook (BAS CEO) joseph-cook@lineone.net
We need all the informatioin we can to bring these people to justice and stop the same happening to you.

With Special Thanks To;

Glenn Gilfillan, David Quinn, Otto Hernandez, Lenny Zamen, and Ferdy Serena of FSPlanet
