TecPilot Has Landed!!
Did you see it? Somewhere in the Flight Simulator world very early on Saturday June 30th TecPilot made its scheduled touchdown - marking the dawning of a new day for flight simulation!
An aviators' environment!
Yes, after a couple of well-deserved beers, and a bit of catch-up sleep, the team at TecPilot proudly announces the arrival of their exciting new web resource. The product of literally thousands of man hours, this new site brings serious flight simulation enthusiasts together in an "aviators" environment dedicated to making 'Simulation Meet Reality'.
Check out the TecPilot demo site now by CLICKING HERE - or for a more detailed description of our mission read on.....
A Joint effort!
TecPilot want to stress that this new resource is not for gamers. Rather it is aimed at flight simulation enthusiasts who want their PC flight simulation experience well and truly grounded in the world of real aviation.
The Team see the site as a sort of collaboration between itself and its members. A virtual 'family' in which members can share in helping TecPilot grow into one of the best things ever to happen to flight simulation. "We believe we will attract just the sort of people who can help us do just that, the sort, for example, who will want to use our Discussion Groups for mature and constructive purposes."
|
Do you have a passion for realism?
For a new member the level of skill as a computer pilot is not the important issue - what does count is a desire to learn and grow, together with a genuine passion for realism. For example, our membership may include novice desk-top pilots who wish to aspire to a career in real-world aviation."
Membership is also sure to attract the many current and ex-pilots who have discovered that modern PC flight simulators are capable of delivering a highly accurate and significant training experience. Many pilots already use their PC sims to keep themselves current - up to scratch - on cockpit procedures, in-flight emergencies and more. |
Beta-tester's paradise?
Developers will also benefit from TecPilot. They will have access to a large number of discerning, and often highly experienced, flightsim enthusiasts who know what they want. They will be able to talk to them about the things serious simmers are interested in.
Developers are sure to appreciate the constructive, quality feedback they are likely to get from a typical TecPilot member. And the secure members-only environment means their projects are far less likely to be compromised. The TecPilot site should prove to be a beta-tester's paradise! |

Outstanding value!!
TecPilot membership offers incredible value for those who grasp all the benefits. We are confident that those who know a good thing when they see it will go for the GOLD Membership. At £20 (about $30) for a full year, it allows full access for a low 5p a day. We have worked very hard to make this middle level of membership outstanding value on its own merits. |
FREE 'Good FlightSimmers' Guide'
Even so, GOLD members joining now also receive a FREE copy of 'The Good Flightsimmers Guide' worth £14.99 ($22.50) retail when released. The regularly updated 248-page guide will be the essential ready-reference for every flightsim enthusiast.
TecPilot believe this all adds up to make GOLD membership an absolute steal! But that's not all

|
Irresistible JULY Bonus offer!
In addition to the free 'Guide' we are discounting GOLD memberships from £20 down to £17 for the whole of July! This brings a year's TecPilot access down to a mere £2 for a full year (when taking into account the value of the Guide) - an irresistible bargain!
AND members will benefit from the GREAT things in store for the rest of the year - at no extra cost! |
Are you Pilot enough ?
Of course, not everyone will want to join - at least, not straight away. At the same time we believe many will be so thrilled with the sheer quantity and quality of what they see on the site they will want to upgrade to Corporate Membership - just to be a closer member of the TecPilot family and not just for the email address and Polo-shirt ! |
|
Industry support and encouragement!
TecPilot is thrilled to have received solid support and encouragement from leading players in the industry, including Abacus, Aerosoft, CH Products, SimMarket and Just Flight. Most have offered products at heavily discounted prices for TecPilot members. More are expected to follow. |
Peter James joins TecPilot as U.S. Editor!
TecPilot is delighted to announce that respected flight simulator expert, charter pilot, and recent VP of FlightSim.Com, has joined the Team as US Editor. We guarantee that members will thrill to Peter's extremely detailed and insightful preview of Flight Simulator 2002 in a leading TecPilot article. The article includes superb new screen captures. |

Release of Flight Simulator 2002
TecPilot's launch coincides nicely with the imminent release of Flight Simulator 2002. The site will provide an ideal vehicle for all the discussions, spin-offs and numerous other exciting developments that will follow closely in the wake of this eagerly awaited Microsoft release. |
An indispensable tool?
Our goals is to make TecPilot membership indispensable for any flightsim enthusiast who claims to takes his (or her) hobby seriously. It's an essential resource with everything you want, all in one place, and just a mouse-click away.
|
At your service!
TecPilot has been created to offer a much-needed service to a rapidly maturing flightsim community. This cannot be stressed highly enough. The growth of the flight simulation industry in both size and complexity is staggering. Flightsim enthusiasts, and not just newcomers, have been increasingly frustrated not knowing where to go for much needed tools, tips, patches, upgrades, useful data, and so on. So we see TecPilot partly as a natural progression for serious flightsim pilots seeking structure and simplification, and for thousand of dedicated simmers right now, we are confident TecPilot will provide just what they are looking for.
Of course, our mission is much wider than that, as our site shows. The aviation news column, and events diary for example is a direct window into the world of real aviation. Other features will introduce many simmers to whole new areas of flight simulation.
The point we want to make is that TecPilot has not been mounted purely as a commercial venture. This is why, for example, the heavy product discounts made available to TecPilot by developers and publishers (up to 30% is some cases) are being passed on to members. Even our Shop is seen as a member service.
What we offer is not intended for public consumption. If people don't want to join - that's fine. If they can get what they want elsewhere - good luck to them. Maybe, at some later date they may feel TecPilot is just what they need.
NO Advertising Policy!
An important feature of TecPilot is that we neither solicit nor run advertising. You will find no banners or pop-ups anywhere on the TecPilot site. This is partly because we wish to be seen as completely neutral in our reviews and previews. TecPilot will do its best to tell it like it is - this is our pledge to our members. We believe this can only help our marvellous industry move ahead!
We want our members to feel a sense of privilege in being part of the TecPilot family. We believe this will be best achieved by not treating them as consumer demographics to have advertising rammed down their throats.
To be sure, this luxury comes at a price. We have costs - of course we do. We have to pay writers, staff and programmers. We'll send a journalist to Timbuctu if we have to, or sponsor him to be a Student Pilot for a day. As far as the future is concerned 'the sky's the limit!' But just as in any household - at the end of the day you have to be able to balance the budget. This means we need to charge for membership. There will be the critics, of course - and this is just as it should be.
TecPilot friends and affiliates
We will continue to support and work alongside all our friends at the existing major flight simulation sites, including providing direct links from our home page.
We believe it was inevitable really
We are confident that TecPilot will be judged an exciting and worthy newcomer to the world-wide flightsim scene. We believe the potential is enormous, and we have energy and ideas to burn and a great line-up of personnel.
But in the end it will all come down to the support and participation of countless individual flightsim enthusiasts, many of whom we hope and trust will become loyal members of our TecPilot family.

We believe that what TecPilot offers, from Day 1, is stunning! But OK, we are unashamedly biased! We freely admit it! So we invite every keen flight simmer out there to visit our TecPilot Demo site and check it out for yourselves- if only to satisfy your curiosity!
As for the actual site - prospective members be warned - it's huge!
All we ask is that tens years from now thousands of you will wonder how you ever managed without TecPilot!
