Please do not upload this file to other servers!
This will change the little "wisp" of smoke produced
by a piston engine start into a real propliner start -
smokey! It also features engine exhaust flames.
Limitations: Since the smoke doesn't look good in the air,
the smoke lasts about 3 minutes. Since the exhaust flame
doesn't stop when the engines stop, it lasts about 10 minutes,
enough for takeoff and initial climb. There is only one exhaust
flame per engine, since any more would require a custom file for
each aircraft (and require you to copy a new version and restart
FS2002 for each aircraft!).
Installation:
1. Rename the fx_engstrt.fx file in your FS2002 EFFECTS folder
to fx_engstrt.fx.orig.
2. Copy the included fx_engstrt.fx file into your FS2002
EFFECTS folder.
3. Start or restart FS2002, and start some engines (Spot
view is best).
Note: if you have already done these steps with another plane
you downloaded, you do not need to repeat it now. It will work
for all of my piston aircraft.
