Douglas DC-6B Pilot's Handling Notes
*************************************
SUMMARY.
This version of the DC-6B has four 1700hp Pratt & Whitney R-2800-CB16 Double Wasp engines which are carburetted and highly supercharged to give rated power up to 14500 feet. 2400hp is available for take off (at sea level) and for two minutes in case of emergency using water/methanol injection. METO power is 1800hp to 8,500 feet. The constant speed propellers can be feathered and have reverse pitch. Automixture control is provided, but may be overidden.
Maximum fuel load is 4934 US gallons. All fuel burn figures are indicative and will vary slightly with altitude. Adjust fuel and payload using the weight and balance schedule of aircraft.cfg
Note - Yields 249 KTAS (210 KCAS) at FL120 at 90,000lbs
****************************
Econ Cruise (FL155 and below):
CALL for economy cruise power (about 1100hp)
