A NOTE ON VFR PHOTOGRAPHIC SCENERY
CENTRAL & SOUTHERN ENGLAND UPGRADE FOR FS2002 & 2004

*********************
Background to Project
*********************

I have found that World co-ordinates with 'VFR Photographic Scenery - Central & Southern England Upgrade for FS2002 & 2004' running does not always coincide with the default FS2002 scenery co-ordinates.

Consequently, preliminary observations with my earlier Scenery Modules (Modules 1 to 5) seem to indicate an unacceptable level of blending in certain areas. The most obvious deviations being a slight extension of the landmass at the Eastern Docks of Southampton Port and positional mis-alignment of the Itchen bridge, Vickers-Thorneycroft dockyard and Ocean Village.

Having said that, the release of Modules 1 to 5 of the Southampton & Regional Area Project was instigated before the public release of 'Just Flight-Visual Flight-Getmapping's VFR Photographic Scenery upgrades for FS2002 & 2004'. Any future updates of these modules (if any) will attempt to address and correct these earlier faults. Remaining Scenery Modules in this Project will be developed with VFR Photographic Scenery blending taken into account (wherever possible).

FS2002-VFR Solution
*******************

Where there is a conflict in coordinates I have developed two different scenery *.bgl files for the module(s) concerned.
Users should ensure that the correct *.bgl file is installed depeding on the scenery being operated and displayed by FS2002/FS2004. Generally *.bgl files will be for users of FS2002/FS2004 whereas *_Vfr.bgl files will be for users who are running VFR Photographic Scenery.

*********************
Hythe Scenery Module:
*********************

Users installing my 'Hythe' Module and have installed 'VFR Photographic Scenery - Central & Southern England' upgrade will find that most 3d-Objects and landmass features of my Southampton & Regional Area Local Addon Scenery will blend almost seamlessly with the VFR scenery.

However, I have found that the moving-objects in the Hythe scenery at times seem to cause conflict with FS2002's model engine - displaying the dreaded Microsoft 'Error message' window! If this happens, replace the 'Hythe.bgl' file in the ...Hythe\scenery folder with the 'Hythe_Vfr.bgl' file found in the ...Hythe\Vfr folder. The Piertrain and Catamaran Ferry boat will not move in this scenario but an FS2002-VFR error should not occur.

***********************
Calshot Scenery Module:
***********************

Calshot Spit and the area around Calshot Spit are also mis-aligned. Users must use the scenery 'Calshot.bgl' file if running FS2002/FS2004. With VFR scenery running users must use the scenery 'Calshot_Vfr.bgl' file. Do not have both *.bgl files in the scenery folder otherwise you will see double!

********************
Esso Scenery Module:
********************

Users who have activated the VFR Photograhic Scenery should replace the Esso.bgl file in the ...\scenery folder with the Esso_Vfr.bgl file found in the ... Esso\Vfr folder. Do not have both *.bgl scenery files in the ...\scenery folder of FS2002 otherwise you will see double!!

Note: Users of this scenery should consult their VFR Handbook for optimum FS2002 settings.
