FS2000 Installation:
Requires Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 or 2000. (This is the FS2000 standard or Professional version but should work in FS98.
You need the default planes installed. Specifically, the Bell 206b.
Unzip the all folders in this zip to your FS2000/aircraft/ folder and then move the one gauge file to the FS2000/gauges folder.

Note: there will be an air file/FS98 panel available which is more suitable for FS298.
Check out my web site for updates.

Flying Suggestions:

1) It is most important, to have a control setup on your computer with rudder control. If you are serious about simulation then get one now!

2) This chopper air file is based on the default Bell206b however, it is much more heavy in the inertia values. I would suggest if you are trying this for the first time that you turn down your Aircraft Realism settings or Joystick sensitivities. Personally, I currently fly with 100% realism and default sensitivities on my Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro. (C) but this may seem too sensitive for some flyers.

3) When flying this chopper air file, about 50% throttle (Collective) should get you close to a hover thrust setting. You won't need to move the throttle more than 75% or less than 40% much of the time. If you move the throttle or controls wildly then you can loose control very easy. To slow down, raise the nose and adust the throttle (Collective).
One could place a piece of tape for a mark on the side of the monitor about 50% up so that you can better gauge the attitude of the craft against the horizon line. At about 10% above the horizon the craft slows nicely and can hover for extended periods as well as backup with carefull flying. Believe me, I'm not that great of a chopper pilot and I can do it.

4) I can't recommend a cure for the fact that you need to have a bit of right (rudder) and possibly a slight bank to the right to fly in a straight line. The air file inputs for the chopper are a mystery to me.

5) Check out Keith's Virtual Helipad for other choppers and scenery (Helipads) http://members.aol.com/keitht777/helipad.html
