FS2002/FS2004 Curtiss SOC-3 "Seagull"
The SOC was designed as a catapult launched floatplane for gunfire control from battleships and general scout duties. It first entered service in 1935 and served well into WW2. This model is painted for the red section leader of VO-3 assigned to the battleship "Idaho". The project was created with FSDSv2.24 and has been tested in both FS2002 and FS2004. It has moving parts, transparent sliding canopies and a bit of a specular color shine. The nav lights work with the "L" key. It is not compatible with CFS2 as it now is configured; I intend to release a CFS2 version later. Many thanks to Mick Morrissey for color info and the VO-3 squadron insignia.

INSTALLATION: Unzip SOC.ZIP into a temporary folder. Copy the folder Curtiss Seagull into the Aircraft folder of the simulator you are using. Open the gauges folder and copy the contents into the Gauges folder of the same simulator. Close everything and fire up the simulator. This plane will show in the Aircraft selection list under Curtiss as the SOC-3.

SOUND: I aliased the c182 sound to save space, but do add a good reciprocating engine sound of your choice. The Vega sound is a reasonable choice in FS2004.

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.
