Usage Notes: PLEASE READ Everything !

This panel was designed for FS2002 Pro and tested on a Sony Vaio.
I have not tried it in the standard version myself.
If you decide to add other textures, then be sure not to overwrite the FDE files.
DO NOT use the FS2002 editor to edit the aircraft.cfg when re-nameing the aircrafts name or livery.
Use a text editor to edit the aircraft.cfg and the panel.cfg.
There are SDK issues in FS2002. All I have to work from is the FS2k SDK.
Expect future updates as the XML SDK becomes available.
I have had reports of graphics memory problems, and FS2002 crashes.
On my system the B747-400 takes about 1 minute and 20 seconds to load and then
works fine after that.
Be sure to turn Tool Tips on in your FS2002 general options menu.

If you email me and do not get a response, then the answear to your question is in
this text.

Installation : PLEASE READ Everything !

Step 1:

Install the latest version of FSUIPC from

http://www.schiratti.com/files/dowson/FSUIPC.zip

Unzip install.zip to your main FS2002 folder.

Open FS02-hud and read the readme file. This file is my optional freeware HUD.

Step 2: PLEASE READ Everything !

The panel interfaces with the FS2002 default B747-400 model's virtual cockpit
The default configurations are setup the way I think most pilots will want.
Therefore you may not need to chage anything.
Some of the main panel's buttons and switches will act as dumb gauges depending on your configuration choices.
Read the following notes in step 2 before you go futher.
This will expalin the differnce between the default and optional configurations.

-------------

FSNavigator

No additional configurations for FSNavigator are needed.
The FSNavigator HSI and 3 way GPS switch can be used in FS2002 GPS mode, and FSNavigator modes. The FSNavigator HSI has been placed in window 1 and the Virtual Cockpit.
The FSNavigator Mode switches in the custom MCP act as dumb switches if FSNavigator is not present. To move the FSNAV HSI see step 3.

-------------

FS Meteo (gauge not included in this package)
The FS Meteo WX gauge can be placed in the Virtual Cockpit, but will only work for registered useres of FS Meteo Version 5.
You can add it in step 3

Step 3: Schu Engineering B747 panel configuration tutorial

Warning !!! D0 NOT run the panel.cfg file through a panel editor.
It will delete and change some parameters if you do.

I wrote the panel.cfg file with use of the MS panel SDK.
I use panel editors to make drafts of the positions in a separate work.cfg file.
This is because I edit some parameters differently than the popular panel.cfg editors.
All of my final proofs and tweaks are done by hand.
This also makes for cleaner code.

Open the panel.cfg file with a text editor i.e. MS Wordpad or MS Notepad

When testing new positions
Use (,) to turn off gauges
Use (//) to turn off text

Be carfull not to add 2 gauges in the same position :-)

If you need additional help understanding the panel.cfg file, you can download and read
the FS2k/FS02 panel SDK from Microsoft.

-----------------------------------------------------
Main panel positions:

[Window00]

//PFD Position
,gaugeXX=se-744!Primary Flight Display, 246,544,250,255 // MS XML gauge
gaugeXX=pb.pfd, 245,548,242,242 // (default)

//HSI position
,gaugeXX=FSNAV.EHSI, 530,552,240,236 // FS Navigator HSI (this gauge is in window 1 by default.
gaugeXX=se-744!Multi-Function Display, 525,550,252,250 // MS XML gauge (default)

--------------------------------------------------------
Virtual Cockpit positions:

[Vcockpit01]

//HSI position options
,gaugeXX=se-744!Multi-Function Display, 277, 259, 224, 252 // MS XML gauge
gaugeXX=FSNAV.EHSI, 280,262,220,248 // FS Navigator HSI (default)

//EICAS position options
,gaugeXX=777fsmwd, 266,-8,246,268 // FS Meteo WX
gaugeXX=se-744!EICAS Display, 277, 2, 224, 252 // MS XML gauge (default)

//PFD Position options
,gaugeXX=se-744!Primary Flight Display, 6, 234, 243, 267 // MS XML gauge
gaugeXX=pb.pfd, 6,234,243,267 // freeware PFD (default)

----------------------------------------------------------
MFD windows:

* FS2002 has a bug with panel windows.
They retain whatever order that is switched on or loaded first.
They do not load in the order that is written unless you edit all windows that
you choose to be (visable=1), and keep the window tittles in the following order also.

[Window Titles]
Window00=747-400 Glass Cockpit
Window01=FSNav HSI
Window02=Radio
Window03=Throttle
Window04=GPS
Window05=Start

This prevents the smaller windows from displaying over the larger windows.
i.e. the HSI window on top of the Overhead window .

---------------

* Adding a window and removing a window
Remember to rename your window tittles as shown below.
If you add or remove a window then you must add or remove the correct tittle and change the tittle numbers to reflect the correct numeric order.

[Window Titles]
Window00=747-400 Glass Cockpit
Window01=FSNav HSI
Window02=New Window // <----- New window position in the EICAS area.
Window03=Radio
Window04=Throttle
Window05=GPS
Window06=Start

Note: I have added a red and white (minicontrols button) on the main panel to activate this window.
==================
