Southern California Land Class Update
For FS2002

Description:
================================
This file will update the land classes using land use data from the USGS. This results in much more detailed scenery than is available in the default scenery. This does not change or modify any of the textures. All it does is tell FS where to put each texture and associated autogen buildings much more accurately. I tried to make this as accurate as possible, but I'm sure there is room for improvement and I plan on updating it.

Also included are the BMP files for each tile so if you have FS Land Class and the USA Country Pack 9, you can further refine the land class scenery. All I ask is that if you fix something please email me the updated BMP so I can include your fixes in any future updates I might put out so everyone can use the improvement. I will be sure to give you credit.

This update covers the area north of San Francisco, east to Lake Tahoe and South to San Diego, which are the following tiles (if you are using FS Land Class):
E64N14
E64N13
E65N12
E65N13

Installation:
===================================

Simply unzip the BGL file into your FS2002/Scenery folder. You don't need to do anything with the Scenery Library and I don't think it will work in any other folder. The BMPs are not needed unless you want to further modify the land classes using FS Land Class.

Known issues:
===============================
-Still get snow in places you wouldn't normally find it. Not sure how this can be adjusted.

-The land classes don't blend between tiles so you may see a line where the textures change in a few places.

-The only performance hit I've noticed is that it takes a few extra seconds for the scenery to load when you change airports.

-If you notice anything that can be improved with this scenery please email me and I will make the change available in future updates.

These files may not be used in any way for commercial purposes or financial gain. You may modify/improve the scenery, so long as it is not for commercial purposes or financial gain. All I ask is that I get credit for the original land class map and please email me the improved land class map (BMP) so that I can include your improvements with any future updates.

Please do not email me with questions regarding how to use FS Land Class. I am not affiliated in any way with the author of that program. If you have questions regarding the use of FS Land Class, ask him. I do frequent the forums at AVSIM so if you ask a question there I will try to help.

This scenery was made using FS Land Class by Burkhard Renk, which you can purchase at http://fssharecenter.com/fslandclass/. The program is not necessary to use the scenery, but it is necessary if you would like to make further modifications.

TerraScene2 by Todd C. Klaus was used to generate the land class map from the LULC data. However, no TerraScene textures were used. It was simply used to generate a color coded land class map.
