Night Light textures for FS2000

Copy all files to your FS2000\scenedb\world\texture folder. This will overwrite the ones you have now. Make a backup of the old files in case you don't like these.

These files are modified from many I have used previously. Most were included in a package from Bill Graham. The main reason for this version, is too add more white lighting to mix with the yellowish lighting. The FS2000 default lights were all yellow for the most part, and looked fairly silly too I might add. Bill's package a big step in the right direction, and much better than default, except that to me, I thought still overly yellow. Almost no white lighting at all. So I redid all the bmps and modified the palets and also the textures also. I also added a few more lights to the rural area night lights. The night lighting textures are applied over the stock textures. That way at dusk, you can see the normal textures but also lights blended in. At night, the day texture fades away and all you see is the night texture. So in theory , these should also work with the "classic" textures as long as the file names are the same as default. But I haven't tried this. I'm still using the default textures for day use. I think I can get these to look better in the future, but I'm short for time at the moment and will go ahead and upload this version. The main area I would like to improve is the "car headlights on the roads" look that you will see often in the real world. It's hard to do this to a great extent as all the textures are applied at random. So I had to kinda "fake" it in places. Also I tried to add lights to the highway textures, but they are "dark" textures, no lighting except for the little doodle bug "cars" that you see buzzing along them . Also the Thames river in London looks like hell with the default texture, but I haven't found the one to change yet. Kinda weird as I'm looking through thumbnails and can see all of them, but am missing it so far. The rest of London looks ok I guess. Some cities came out fairly good, so try a few and see how you like. These lights and palets blend into existing skyscrapers fairly well, and give a fuller look the these areas. So enjoy...Mark Keith
