ABOUT THE AIRPORT:

Linden Airport (IATA: LDJ, ICAO: KLDJ), also known as Linden Municipal Airport, is a small general aviation airport located along US 1&9 in Linden, a city in Union County, New Jersey, southwest of New York City. This airport is publicly owned by City of Linden. Linden Airport covers 188 acres and has one runway.

During World War II, a now closed General Motors factory, whose buildings remain across the street from the airport, produced military aircraft. The airport was built to allow testing and transportation of these aircraft. Since 2003, the majority of the airport has been replaced with a shopping center named Aviation Plaza. The airport retains its main building, hangars, and runway 9/27.(1)

ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This is my 3rd version of my home airport. The first was for FS2002 and then I updated it for FS2004. However the building placement was not accurate as that was my early design days. I decided to update the scenery again and place the buildings more accurately. Also I have ajusted the AF2 file to reflect the current parking arrangement. I may redo the scenery in the future to achieve a more detailed view of the area. I hope you enjoy this update. Happy landings!!

FILES AND INSTALLATION:

AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE kldj_07.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE. Go to my website and download the file loneys_ez_objects.zip. It contains the updated files of all my ez scenery objects. If you have used my sceneries before, backup your existing ez scenery objects I have created and put them in a safe place. Created a new folder and name it Loney's EZ Scenery Objects. make 2 subfolders called scenery and texture. Place all .bgl anf .txt files in the scenery folder and all .bmp files in the texture folder. Now activate them in FS9 as you normally do for your addon scenery.

kldj_fs1 to kldj_fs8 - These are .jpg screenshots

FILE_ID.DIZ - File indentification text.

Readme.txt - The file you are reading right now.

AircraftLinden.txt, AirportsLinden.txt and FlightPlansLinden.txt.(This is in case you want to add to or subtract from the AI Traffic.)

linden07.zip - The zip file containing airport scenery.

lsigns_2.zip - The new signs for this scenery. Add them to your existing Loney's Signs 2 library. Overwrite the .bgl and .txt files.

Using the folders switch, unzip the files linden07.zip and lsigns_2.zip to a temporary folder.

You should have the following:
fs2k4_scenery\Kldj_07\scenery
fs2004/lago/fse/data/Linden.se2
/common/tracks/Linden.osc
fs2004/addon scenery/Loney's Signs 2/scenery
/texture

Now:
1. move the kldj_07 folder (and the subfolder) to wherever you keep your addon scenery.
2. If you are a Lago user, move the .se2 and the .osc files to the proper folders in your main Lago folder.

Activating the scenery in FS9:

1. Start FS
2. At the Menu, select Settings
3. Then select Scenery Library
4. Select Add Area
5. Go to where you have the scenery folder and just open the folder ie; (Kldj_07) Then click OK
6. Set the priority using the "D" Key or the Move Down button or the "U" Key or the Move Up Button
7. Click OK
8. Close FS and re-start
9. At the menu select "Select a Flight"
10. Scroll down to a flight, hightlight and click FLY NOW
11. Go to the World drop down menu at the top of the screen (If you are in the Windows setting) and click. If you are in the Full Screen setting, press the ALT key for the drop down menu bar. Then click on World.
Next click on Go To Airport. Select United States, The State, The Airport and the parking space, then click OK.
12. Select the aircraft you want to fly.
That's it! Go to the next step if there is AI Traffic acompanying this scenery. There would a file named Trafficxxxxxx.bgl in the scenery folder. Otherwies you are ready to use the airport.

13. Change the time of day (GMT) to the time mentioned above in the "About the Aircraft" section and save the flight.
Now go fly.

Happy landings!
