ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This download is version 1.5. A couple of errrors came up and in an effort to reduce any confusion, I am releasing an updated version to include the error fixes.

This scenery came about by a request from a flight simmer. Now here is the kicker! I am sorry to say that I don't remember his name to give him that credit. Check the email you say? Normally I would but that computer crashed and burned and I lost all that data. So I am starting from scratch now.

Jacksonville is my birth city and I have designed Jacksonville International back in June 2004. As it was pointed out by the flight simmer who requested this scenery, I was long overdo for another design for my birth city. I agreed and here it is.

I have a concern for the frame rates this scenery may impact. I think I had a pretty good feel for that happy medium with my old computer and I think most users had decent frame rates with my sceneries. However, the new computer is much , much faster than the old one. I felt that I needed to make the files in such a way that would give the user more latitude in what they see in the scenery and how their frame rates are effected. Therefore, below you will find some recommendations on what to remove from the scenery folder in order to get the frame rates to an acceptable level should this be neccessary.

Each object in each FBO scetion has it's own .bgl file. You will be able to move certain items out of the scenery in order to get a good frame rate.

There is a flight plan file that uses only default ai aircraft. I have included the usual ground traffic tracks via FSE. EZ Scenery was the only object placement tool used but you should still have all the libraries from Rwy12 installed as EZ uses those objects too. Below, you will also find the libraries I used in this scenery as well as a list of most libraries you could download.

The parking has been divided as such: For Craig Air Center, select N Parking; for ATP select Parking; for Sky Harbor Aviation, select S Parking.

I hope you enjoy this rendering of Craig Municipal Airport. Happy Landings!

FYI - My website is in tact and working, however it has not been updated since the crash because the source files I had to download from the server are out of whack to say the least. I am working on getting the source files straightened out and in order then I can upload the updates. In the meanwhile, if you need anything from the site such as textures, you can still go online and download them from my website.

LIBRARY OBJECTS USE IN THIS SCENERY:

Scenery Libraries:

Here is a list of the libraries I used for this scenery. However, I recommend you look at the list following this one and download the libraries you do not have.

There is 1 object file I was unclear as to where they come from. The .bgl file is:
Harkins_Theater.bgl. However I've been informed that the file was included in the Harkins Library by Kevin Burns and was included in his Prescott, Arizona package - prescottphoto.zip at Avsim.

NOTE: Those zip files that are more than 8 characters long can be downloaded from SurClaro.com. SurClaro restricts the zip names to 8 characters.

INSTALLATION:

Author's Note:

After receiving many emails, I find that I am a little off the beaten path. My FS file structure is not the default setup. So as you read these instructions, keep in mind that most of the files will work from anywhere as long as FS knows where they are. If your file structure is C:\Programs Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\ it's ok. Just place or check to verify that certain files are in certain folders. I will refer to the above structure as the DEFAULT FILE STRUCTURE, and the following file structure as MY FILE STRUCTURE. Which is: D:\fs2004\ and my scenery files are in D:\fs2k4_scenery\.
I have it this way because I've also done scenery for fs2002 and I didn't want to get the two versions mixed up. (Bet'cha can't guess what the folder name for the fs2002 scenery is). So in explaining where the files go, I'll try not to confuse anyone, but if I do, please contact me for clarification.

AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE KCRGv15.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE.

If you don't have them already, download Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2x and AFCAD2x. Follow the instructions from the files and install them onto your system. While you're at it, download the texture files necessary for this scenery and put them into the main FS texture folder. They are: ASDv2.1, Nova, Nova Gold and NovaSim textures, plus my own custom textures. All are available for free at my website, www.lfssd.net (the "l" is an L, not a one). You also should download Rwy12 objects/textures. You don't need the complete Rwy12 program. (See the Rwy12 open letter on SurClaro or SurClaro.com search file rwy12_-_open_letter.zip). As mentioned above, you can get the EZ Scenery libraries/textures from Abacus' website at http://www.abacuspub.com/pub/AbacusEZLibraries.exe.(See Scenery Libraries above for specific library files)

Using the folders switch, unzip the file kcrgscn15.zip to a temporary folder.

You should have the following:
fs2k4_scenery\KCRG
FS2004\LAGO\FSE\Data\xxx.se2
\Common\Tracks\xxx.osc
From the main zip file (KCRGv15.zip) you should have the following: lbldg_2.zip and lsigns_2.zip. These are the updated ez scenery objects I created to include in this scenery. Unzip these to the Addon Scenery folder in your FS9 (Don't forget to use the folders switch so the files will automatically go to the proper sub folders.)

Now:
1. move the KCRG folder (and the subfolders) to wherever you keep your addon scenery.
2. For you Lago users, move the xxx.se2 and xxx.osc files to their proper folder under the LAGO main folder.

If your frame rates are low, I reccommend you remove the following files from the scenery folder. You can place them in the KCRG main folder.

The kcrg_atp humans.bgl and/or kcrg_atp vehicles.bgl files until you have a satisfactory F/R. You can also try kcrg_craig air center people.bgl and/or kcrg_craig air center vehicles.bgl. In fact, you can remove any of the humans and/or vehicles .bgl that are in the scenery folder.
If you are a LAGO FSE user, and the frame rates are still low, you might want to consider removing the CraigMunicipal.SE2 and .OSC files from the Lago folders.

Activating the scenery in FS9:

1. Start FS
2. At the Menu, select Settings
3. Then select Scenery Library
4. Select Add Area
5. Go to where you have the scenery folder and just open the folder ie; (KCRG) Then click OK
6. Set the priority using the "D" Key or the Move Down button or the "U" Key or the Move Up Button
7. Click OK
8. Close FS and re-start
9. At the menu select "Select a Flight"
10. Scroll down to a flight, hightlight and click FLY NOW
11. Go to the World drop down menu at the top of the screen (If you are in the Windows setting) and click. If you are in the Full Screen setting, press the ALT key for the drop down menu bar. Then click on World. Next click on Go To Airport. Select United States, Florida, Craig Mun and the parking space, (I recommend N Parking 8) then click OK.
12. Select the aircraft you want to fly.
13. Change the time of day (GMT) to the time mentioned above in the "About the Aircraft" section and save the flight.
Now go fly.

Happy landings!
