ABOUT THE AIRPORT:

Johnson County Executive Airport (KOJC) serves Olathe and Johnson County and is owned by Johnson County. The paved runway extends for 4099 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 1096 feet at a distance of about 4 miles from Olathe. Originally constructed as a Naval auxiliary field during World War II, the airport was deeded to the City of Olathe in 1951 and from the city to Johnson
County in 1967. The Board of County Commissioners created the Johnson County
Airport Commission to manage, operate, and improve the airports. With over 100,000
annual operations and approximately 230 based aircraft, the airport is the second
busiest in the state of Kansas.

ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This scenery was inspired by two designers, Dan Fleming and Mike Eppright, both of whom previously designed Johnson county Executive with emphesis on the western side of the facility. Both did a cool job. I just thought I'd give the entire facility a complete make over. There are animated hangar dors, Fuel trucks driving around (courtesy of Lago's FSE) and of course AI traffic. The west parking has a large none paved tie down area while the east parking has a small none paved tie down area. I followed the lead of Dan and Mike together with some maps and diagrams I found on the internet. However, the roadway had to be modified because of the autogen scenery around the airport. I realize that those without Lago's FSE will not get the full benefit of the entire enhancement of the area, I apologize for that, I have not learned to create quality eye candy with just FSDS2 such as people and trucks and trees and animations. I am learning and when I feel that the objects I produce are up to par, I will incorporate them into the FSDS2 design. I did try, however to give the non FSE owners enough scenery to enjoy the makeover. There are a total of 113 parking spaces at the facility. I only filled a small portion so you can overload the area with AI flights of your own. So please take this scenery and enjoy. Happy flying, safe landings. Comments can be directed to the email address below.

AIRCRAFT:

The aircraft I used for the scenery startup is the Pilatus PC-12. Download from SurClaro and search pc12comb.zip. Another textured version was used in the AI traffic below from the same download.

I created 20 AI flights in this scenery. Including the scenery startup aircraft, you will have 92 parking spaces left for your own AI creations. I have listed only the downloadable aircraft used as AI below. the rest are with the FS9 default aircraft.

AC# Type/Livery Zip File

AFTER UNZIPPING THE FILE KOJC_V1.ZIP TO A TEMPORARY FOLDER, HOPEFULLY, YOU ARE READING THIS README FILE.

If you don't have them already, download Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2x and AFCAD2x. Follow the instructions from the files and install them onto your system. While you're at it, download the texture files necessary for this scenery and put them into the main FS texture folder. They are: ASDv2.1, Nova, Nova Gold and NovaSim textures. Also my own custom textures. All are available at my website, www.LFSSD.net. Using the folders switch, unzip the file kojc_scen.zip to the drive where you have your FS. Using your file manager (Windows Explorer) check to make sure that all the files are in their proper folder.

C:\My Documents\Flight Simulator Files should have KS - Johnson Co Executive FLT and WX files
Drive:\FS2004\Addon Scenery\scenery should have AF2_KOJC.bgl
