FS2000/FS2002 Douglas DC-3 Lufthansa D-CADE
===========================================

Between 1955 and 1960, Lufthansa operated three Douglas DC-3, flying the smaller routes
like Hamburg-Dusseldorf or Frankfurt-Munich. This is D-CADE, c/n 27108, ex C-47 (USAAF).
During its time at Lufthansa, the paint scheme of D-CADE changed in some details. I like
this one best.

The aircraft is a repaint of Jan Visser's great OH-LCH DC-3. His textures are really an
excellent base to start with! My part of the work was to replace the original Finnish
Airlines livery with the paint scheme of this particular version.

This simulation is FREEWARE, but the authors of the files retain all copyrights.
The package comes with absolutely no warranty, you are using it at your own risk.

Many thanks to Jan Visser! He immediatedly offered his full cooperation and allowed
the upload of this repaint. Please read his original textfile (README.TXT) for more
legal notices and other information.

FS2000 ONLY: INSTALLATION OF CADE10.ZIP
=======================================

IMPORTANT: Follow Jan's installation instructions with one exception: Do NOT (!) unzip
cade10.zip in the FS2000 root folder! Instead of that, go into the AIRCRAFT folder of
FS2000 and create a new directory with a name of your choice. Then, unzip the content
of this archive into the new directory.

FS2002 ONLY: How to fly D-CADE with the FS2002 R4D Panel
========================================================

You will need following files:
r4dv40up.zip
r4d_2k2.zip (time-locked donationware)
r4d2k2ap.zip

1) First, install the FS2002 version of the R4D-6 (r4d_2k2.zip, r4dv40up.zip)

2) Rename the R4D aircraft folder from "Douglas R4D-6 NATS v4.0" to "Douglas R4D-6"

3) Install the R4D autopilot update (r4d2k2ap.zip)

4) To install D-CADE, create a new directory in the AIRCRAFT folder of FS2002 and
unzip cade10.zip in it.

5) Go into D-CADE aircraft folder and rename the file "aircraft.cfg" to "aircraft.old"

6) Switch to folder "Douglas R4D-6" and copy the following files in the D-CADE
aircraft folder:
RC_R4Dv1.6.air
aircraft.cfg
r4d_2k2_check.txt
r4d_ref.txt
r4d_check.cfg

7) Switch back to D-CADE aircraft folder and edit the file "aircraft.cfg" with the
Windows Editor (or any other text system producing plain ASCII text). Change the
following equations to:

title=Douglas DC-3 D-CADE
atc_id=D-CADE
ui_type=DC-3
ui_variation=Lufthansa
description=Douglas DC-3 Lufthansa\n\nBetween 1955 and 1960, Lufthansa operated three Douglas DC-3, flying the smaller routes like Hamburg - Dusseldorf or Frankfurt - Munich. This is D-CADE, c\/n 27108, an ex C-47 (USAAF).\n\nRepaint: Hansjoerg Naegele\nbased on textures of J. Visser\nDesigner : Jan Visser\nFlight Dynamics: Erik Ellis, Jan Visser, Roy Chaffin, Ian Ropper, & Bill Rambow\n
atc_airline=LUFTHANSA
atc_flight_number=LH003

The "description=..." line is a very long line. Make sure that it remains one single
line in the "aircraft.cfg" file (turn OFF word wrap when editing).

8) Ensure that the files "Sound.cfg" and "panel.cfg" in the "sound" and "panel"
folders of D-CADE contain the correct name of the R4D aircraft folder:

alias=Douglas R4D-6\sound
alias=Douglas R4D-6\panel

9) Running FS2002, D-CADE should now appear in the "Douglas" aircraft list.

FS2002 ONLY: Replacing the FS2000 lights
========================================

Since D-CADE uses the same model than the OH-LCH DC-3, you can download Paul Pridmore's
dohl_mod.zip file to replace the original lights with FS2002 lights.

Hope you like flying D-CADE!
Many thanks to Martin Wright for his BMP2000 and DXTBmp tools!
