RAAF Amberley add-on for Flight Simulator 2004 (c) Ian Thatcher and Rob Nieuwenhoven 2004.

This scenery is part of the RAAF AI package, designed by Dave Friswell, Barry Magann, Mal Lloyd and Rob Nieuwenhoven. Download the whole package from www.aussim.com.au.

Installation:

1. Back EVERYTHING up before you start!

2. Make sure you have the "Must have files" and Ian Thatcher's 'new_g_d.zip' available from www.SurClaro.com or www.SurClaro. This will ensure your textures are complete and not blank rectangles!

3. If you have addon sceneries for RAAF base Amberley, you'll need to delete them, or at least de-activate them to avoid conflicts. If you installed them correctly, you already know how to use the Scenery Library screen. If you didn't, don't worry - we'll get there shortly!

6. You'll need to unzip all the files from this folder into a convenient temporary file. If you're using Windows Xp or ME, you can just drag and drop the 'Flight Simulator 9\addon scenery' folder into the drive which has your FS9 directory.

7. Activate the scenery by adding RAAF Amberley to FS2004's "Scenery Library".

a. Start FS2004 and select "Scenery Library" under "Settings";
b. Select "Add Area";
c. Browse to the addon scenery folder;
d. Select the title for the scenery (RAAF Amberley) in the box "Scenery Area Title";
e. Make sure "Use this scenery directly" is checked;
f. Press "OK";and
g. Click OK and the scenery is now installed. Restart FS2004.

Acknowledgements:

Mick Stephenson gave the nod for modifications of his excellent Amberley and Richmond. Ian used some of Bill Holker's files in his sceneries with Bill's permission.

Our sincere apologies if we've missed anyone out.

Known problems:

Some users have reported slow framerates after installing this package. Fixes are:

1. Make sure the 'Render to texture' box in the 'Display' tab is un-checked;
2. Reduce the percentage of AI aircraft by using the slider; and

Some users reported problems with floating/sunken runways. Should this happen, you'll need to grab 'JABBgl' and fix the default airfield heights, or grab the RAAF AI package which includes the fix!
