FS2004 PBY-5A Sunbird Services

The first PBY flight was in 1935, and before the WWII it was suposed to be replaced by the Martin PBM. At the end of the war, more than 4.000 planes where build. They don't desapeared with the end of the war, as they continued flying in many duties.

Trans Australian Airlines was a Quantas subsidiary that took charge of the New Guinea flights during the WWII. Two PBY-5A Catalinas were used until July 24th, 1958. The undercarriage and hydraulics were removed to increase payload. So, THIS PLANE MUST BE USED ONLY FOR WATER OPERATIONS. However, you still can cheat and use the weels if you are not so historical detallist.
After the war the TAA New Guinea operations were styled 'Sunbird Services'. Several other airlines, including Ansett, employed Catalinas in the 1950's and 1960's for brief periods on island work.

Talking about water landings: to make this one compatible with Fs2002, I made a change to the aircraft.cfg of Mike Stone. This is the original for FS9:
//water=fx_spray
water=fx_waterland
and this is the change I do:
water=fx_spray
//water=fx_waterland

This file includes the last PBY-5A of Sunbird Services, VH-EBD. There is a FS98 file with VH-WWC, the another one, with a slighty different paint.

When I was making this plane, there was reached 50.000 people who downloaded at least one of my files. Of course, it was not my idea when I uploaded my first repaint. I just wanted to let the people know about a plane that I belive is different, a Ju-52 in Milka chocolate marks. Maybe some day I will do the upgrade for FS2004. Since then I have released 67 files (including this) with 94 different color schemes in total. And I still want to let you know about all the wonderfull planes that are, and were, flying around by all the world.
Of course, I must thank to the plane modelers. Specially those who releases its models with the repaint permission included. I must thank to all 50.000 of you who downloaded at least one of my planes. I must thank to the people who liked so much my planes to sendme an email, including them with observations. Some of them are about models, and I can do nothing, but the ones that I can correct, I'll do.
Thanks, of course, to the 15 web sites and three virtual airlines with my planes.
Package includes panel (read the attached Mike Panels.txt). Model by Mike Stone, Repaint by Alejandro Hurtado.

Warranty:
I love the warranty wrote by Andrew W. Hall:
"None. Zip. Nada. Use at your own risk. I don’t think
this will harm your computer in any way, but if it does, I
don’t even want to hear about it."

A last remark: Why don't become a repainter? There are a lot of planes with special markings. I'm tired of the usual F-16 low-vis scheme, or the usual 757 in Delta markings. Why don't a "Bat's outa Hell's" B-25 or a serie of Qantas 737s? The plane modelers like Mike Stone are very important, but they can't make all the painting schemes by himselfs. So why don't help they?

Installation:

Just unzip pby5ah66.zip in your "Aircraft" folder of FS2004, install your desired panel and that's all. If you don't know how to install a panel, just let the one who comes instaled, but I don't like it. In this case, the panel uses gauges from the default DC3. You may need to copy the file named "Douglas_DC3.cab" from the folder "/Flight Simulator 9/aircraft/Douglas_DC3/panel" to "/Flight Simulator 9/gauges" for the gauges to show correctly.
