1.Introduction
Matsuyama is the biggest city in Shikoku Island, Japan. It was built as a castle town
in the 17th century. It knows at present as a town of the commerce and the sightseeing.
The old castle is left in the summit of Mt. Katsuyama in the town even now, and loved
as Matsuyama's symbol by a citizen. Dogo hot spring is in the east of the town, and
it is crowded with many sightseers. And, this town is known as a stage of the novel
"Bocchan" of Souseki Natsume.
As you can see, the default FS Matsuyama has almost nothing except runway,
tower, and misery terminal, so I decided to remove default scenery and remake
it completely.
For the reason above, this scenery must be installed after default scenery is
fully removed. Therefore you must get SCKILL.exe from following place;
*** The place where SCKILL.exe is available
Mr.Takuya Murakami(Author)'s homepage;
http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/tmurakam/index.html
And you also need to get "Airport" texture files and "FSLD common textures" separately.
or the famous FS related sites like ftp.iup.edu, wings.ark.com,
or SurClaro and so on.
*** The place where "FSLD common textures" is available
My homepage; http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/fsld/fsld_tex.htm
2.How to install
Please read the following instruction caefully!
1)Copy SCKILL.exe and Matuyama.KIL to FS98\Scenery\Asia\Scenery folder
2)At DOS prompt screen, type
SCKILL Matuyama.KIL [Enter]
and proceed removing steps.
3) If you have "SCINST", you can skip following process [4)-8)].
I recommend it.
*** The place where SCINST is available
Mr.Takuya Murakami(Author)'s homepage;
http://flightinfo.ens.ne.jp/tmurakam/index.html
4)Make special folder for Matsuyama under FS\Scenery folder as follows with
Windows Explorer.
ex: C:\FS98\SCENERY\Matuyama\Scenery
\Texture
*In this case, you can still choose different folder name. The reason for
preparing different folder is to make the synth tile altitude settings
effective. There are still a lot of tiles need to be refined
in MS Japan scenery, so why don't you gathering them into a specific
folder like JPNADD folder? :-)
5)Copy *.BGL to Matuyama\Scenery folder.
6)Copy *.PAT to Matuyama\Texture folder.
7)Copy Airport textures (*.OAV) to FS\Texture folder.
FS searchs FS\Texture folder first when creating scenery database,
if not, then searches specific texture folder which you've made.
As Airport textures are commonly used in most of free scenery, copying
them to FS\Texture folder is useful to save your hard disc space.
8)Run FS and regist folder you've made (i.e. Matuyama\Scenery folder or so)
Regist procedures are;
a.Select World--Scenery Library from FS menu-bar.
b.Warning message will appear and click OK button.
c.At Scenery Library screen, Scenery Worlds indicates FS98 world,
then click Files button.
d.At Scenery Areas screen, click Add button.
e.At Add Scenery Areas screen, enter the path of your folder like
f.After entering path, Scenery Area Titles can be recorded.
Enter your preferable title like "Matsuyama Scenery."
g.Set Scenery Area Type as LOCAL from pull-down menu.
h.Click and check Scnery Area Active button.
i.Set Scenery Area Layer higher than FS98\ASIA folders.
In this case, smaller number has more priority.
j.Click OK buttons three times.
then registing folder to FS will be completed.
9)Run FS and from 'Go to Airport' menu, choose Matsuyama!
