The company "Lithuanian Airlines" was established and is
independently operating since September 20, 1991. Business fields are
services of air transportation and other aviation works. Planes of the
company are flying international routes. Airline company "Lithuanian
Airlines" is the national air transporter of Lithuanian Republic, a full
member of ERA and IATA. "Lithuanian Airlines" has routes to Amsterdam,
Berlin, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Tallinn, Rome, Stockholm, Paris, London,
Moscow, Warsaw, Helsinki, Istanbul, Kiev. "Lithuanian Airlines" is
successfully implementing the national program of transport system
expansion of Lithuanian Republic. The aim of this system is to create a
homogeneous and multi-branch transport system and integrate it into the
market of transport services in Western Europe, stimulating transit
foreign cargo and passenger streams, retaining trade and other useful
relations with Russia and other CIS countries. 1993-1995 was a period of
search and trial. Based on business plan of the company, company's route
structure was optimized during above mentioned period, company acquired a
useful experience in international aviation industry, established
representative offices in Frankfurt, Warsaw, Stockholm, Moscow, London,
Copenhagen, established a new branch in Palanga, sales network was
expanded in Europe and Northern America, intensive cooperation is
maintained with other airline companies concerning common carriages.

"Lithuanian Airlines" understand that there is no perspective in
their work if they use morally old planes of soviet production. So in 1999
they started a programme of renewal of the old flying stock. This
programme is supported by the Lithuanian Goverment and the Ministry of
Communications. Two Boeing-737-200, where purchased on the credit of the
American Export-Import Bank. Two SAAB340B, two SAAB2000, one
Boeing-737-300 are rented. At the same time we are actively looking for
buyers or lesses of planes Jak42D. At the present time we are solving the
problems of profitableness of the routes: we use a flexible price policy,
improve the service and look for non-standard changes in the market. As
one of the ways of solving these problems - we think of using small planes
on short-distance routes. "Lithuanian Airlines" is planning to increase
the number of services: to grant technical services to planes of other
aircraft companies, to use the cargo terminal of JSC "LAL Cargo", to
increase tourism services through the common "Lithuanian Airlines" and the
main tourist agency "Aviaturas and Partneriai"; to use VIlnius as a
transit town etc. The main regions which interest "Lithuanian Airlines"
are North America, Middle Asia, CIS countries. We are also interested in
further opportunities in Europe.
