KACT WACO (TEXAS) REGIONAL AIRPORT mid 1960s Scenery for FS2004 ONLY

by Dan French
daniel.french@insightbb.com

REQUIREMENTS:
This scenery requires The following free downloadable libraries for some things to show up:

1. EZ Scenery libraries (David Grindele's all-inclusive available for free download
at SurClaro ez_1.zip)
2. CalClassic Core library (www.calclassic.com)
3. Runway 12 libraries (SurClaro rw12l112.zip, rw12l212.zip, rw12l312.zip)

INSTALLATION:
1. Download the kact_mid1960s.zip file to a temporary folder and extract all the files.
2. Place or copy the entire folder "KACT Waco Regional Mid 60s" into your FS2004/Addon Scenery folder.
3. Now for the hard part: you have to make a choice.
-Open the folder "Choose an airport layout".
-If you want taxiway signs on your airport, copy or move the file "AFX_KACT62_T" into your new KACT Waco Regional
Mid 60s/ scenery folder you just placed into FS2004/Addon scenery.
-If you DO NOT want taxiway signs on your airport, copy or move the file "AFX_KACT62_N" into your new KACT Waco
Regional Mid 60s/ scenery folder you just placed into FS2004/Addon scenery.
4. Turn on Flight Simulator 2004
5. At the main menu, click on and open the SETTINGS button.
6. Under "Scenery" click on and open the "Scenery Library"
7. Click on "Add Area", then navigate to "Addon Scenery". Double click to open, select the folder
"KACT Waco Regional Mid 60s" and click OK.
9. At this point, the title of the folder should appear in the "Area List" menu of Flight Simulator with a
red check mark in the "Enabled" column.
10. Use the "Move up" or "Move down" buttons to MAKE SURE the "KACT Waco Regional Mid 60s" folder is listed ABOVE
the EZ Scenery, CalClassic Core, and Runway 12 libraries.
11. Click "OK" button and exit /close Flight Simulator. The next time you fly, the airport should be in place.

SPECIAL NOTES:
1. Make sure any other AFCAD or AFX files for KACT are removed or turned off lest strange things happen at the airport.
They are usually in the FS2004/ Addon Scenery/ scenery folder labelled AF2_KACT or AFX_KACT or something similar.
MAKE SURE you have chosen ONE, and ONLY one, of the AFX files in "Choose an airport layout" and placed it per the above instructions.
2. Turn off any previous KACT scenery folders in the FS2004 Scenery Library window (described above).
3. Although the AFX files supplied are very realistic visually to the 1960 aerial view of the airport, FS2004 will
not allow deletion or modification of stock Nav aids such as ILS markers etc, at least at my level of sophistication
in scenery development! SO, the stock nav aids will still appear on the MAP view, and the glideslopes for the
ILS runways may be somewhat off.
BE CAREFUL out there flying.
4. You can turn off the airport by going to settings/scenery library and unchecking the enabled boxes.
5. ALWAYS make backup copies in separate folders of anything you remove or replace so you can restore your originals if you wish.
