Runway Tire Markings - an EZ Style Library.

After unzipping this package you will find a folder named Scenery and a folder named Texture.

Copy the two files from the Scenery folder (tire marks.bgl and tire marks.txt) and Paste them wherever you have your object libraries installed. They go into the scenery subfolder.

Mine are in a scenery entry named EZ Scenery Libraries (which has scenery and texture subfolders).

From the Texture subfolder, Copy the texture named tmarks.bmp and Paste it into the Texture subfolder as above.

Now you should be able to select tire marks.bgl from your object placing program and place the marks wherever you wish.

Note: I find the marks look best on runways which are of Asphalt - to my eye, they are bit to stark when used on Concrete runways - but feel free to experiment.

CREDITS: Jaxan Prier and Jose Gutierrez - the Mach-1 Design Group - for the Tire Mark Model and Texture.

I first saw the effect in use on their recent Oakland, California Airport enhancement - oak2009.zip at SurClaro.com - and was so impressed that I pursued the idea of making an object library for all to use.

Should you make use of this library in any work you plan to share, please remember to give them proper credit.

Their work is consistantly very well done and I encourage all to audition any of their airport enhancements. I feel confident you will be pleased.

This library has been tested on FS2004 only - but it likely will work in FSX also.
