In 1931, accompanied by Australian navigator Harold Gatty, Wiley Post
circled the world in under nine days. In 1933, equipping Winnie Mae with
a prototype autopilot and the Army's new Automatic Direction Finder, he
set off from New York to become the first to fly around the world alone.
