South African Airways Convair CV-580 (Fictional Paint & registration)

Being a South African and a Convair fan I have decided to repaint this aircraft in the OLD South African Airways paint Scheme. I do not believe that South African Airways had a CV 580 so the registration is fictional. With the redesign of the model file I was able to include reflective textures which really adds to the realism. The changes made by Tom are awsome and it adds to the already well acclaimed CV-580 review featured on SurClaro

Thanks Greg Pepper for his great CV-580.
Thanks Glen Hall for assiting with the the files and how to regarding painting.
Thanks to Tom Gibson for updated version 2 update which adds features of which a description is added below:

This change will add the new model features and night lighting to these CV-580's. Tom's improvements include; Props now display the pitch visually - you can feather the props by pressing and holding Crtl-F2 and watch them rotate. Flaps deploy as proper Fowler flaps (i.e. slide back), and the flap/nacelle joint has been corrected to 45 degree angle. Airstair handrails now deploy realistically. Props have smooth curved edge, corrected right wing misalignment, pointed the rear fuselage, smoothed rear fuselage, and added view blocks in air intakes, prop spinners, main gear wells, and under stairs. Scissors links are added to the gear, the gear retraction cycle has been altered to match video footage, the nose has been slightly reshaped, antennas have been added, glass has been added to the cockpit. Nosewheel now steers with the rudder. Added reflective textures, and it is lit at night, albeit subtly, and the virtual cockpit gauges are lit.

A very special thanks to Tom Gibson who kindly provided a modified version of his V2 version of this Convair to work with my repaint as well as Glen Halls repaints and retain the customized airstair panels Glen Hall created.

Some parts of the texture from a DC-4 from "F S - D E S I G N B E R L I N" was used to create this paint scheme thanks to the team for providing excellent aircraft and paint schemes. Thanks to ARIK HOHMEYER of FS design team.

This aircraft is freeware, and may not be used on any media to generate money!
