Hello there, and thank you for downloading this great airliner, a Boeing C97G freighter.

for use with FS2K. This aircraft will not work in FS98 and no further FS98 versions are possible.

This aircraft simulation is the latest in a series of civilian/military Boeing double decker transports that Dave McQueen has been making since 1996. It is intended for use with Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2000. It has full moving parts This aircraft simulation took many hundreds of hours of time at the keyboard to coordinate the present state of the project. This sim was made with Abacus' AF99 Aircraft Factory program and Konstantin Kukushkins' Aircraft Animator program. Activating the "O" key will turn on the strobe lights on the wing and fuselage.

Sounds by Claudio Pedrazzini--actual C97 sounds and a custom made panel by Stephan Grille and modified for use with FS2000 by Dave McQueen is available from Dave & Rui's website at:

http://flightsimmers.net/airport/airliners/

Instructions as to how to install the panel in your C97 folder are contained there as well, courtesy of Tom Gibson' Classic Airliners web site.

Changes from previous FS98 versions include the following:

1) More detailed nose landing gear assembly with texture for the front nosewheel door
2) Textured flaps
3) Textured ailerons
4) Re-constructed tires with 16 sides to simulate a circular effect.
5) Changed the motion sequence for the animated landing gear to a more realistic rate of change.
6) Revised engine intake texture
7) Main/nose gear position with respect to the center of gravity adjusted so that the tires do not sink into the runway.
8) Bleed through from propellers with other parts of the airplane have been eliminated courtesy of Konstantin Kukushkin Aircraft Animator version 1.2 available from Abacus.
9) 512X512 pixel extended BMP textures, all new with the greatest detail possible.
10) Rui Cristina's excellent artwork.
11) Other changes: smoothed rear under fuselage; fixed tears in the engine construction; rebuilt the outer wing; rebuilt the landing gear; revised center of gravity values for landing gear wheel placement; repaired errors in the front nose area; revised the position of the main gear doors.
