FS2002 CN-235 Binter Mediterráneo

(Hay un archivo en español en LEEME.TXT)

Long time ago, when I started to collect planes for the Flight Simulator, I used the 95 version. I had some planes, and between them was a Casa Nunartio 235 of Binter, in a zip called cn235-95 and made by Daniel Biosca.

Later went FS98, FS2000, FS2002 and now FS2004, that I don't have already. But, for more search I did, I never found another Binter's CN-235. So, nine years later, I repainted this model to make happy all the people who flew in the real or simulated plane, just like me.

I´m including the FS98 conversion of the Daniel Biosca´s model in the folder REFERENCES (The size of the zip is only 35.2 Ks). You can extract apart and see how where the things in the old days.

Know bugs:
The fuselage lines are no straight. Its a problem with the model, no the painting. I tried to compensate.
Sometimes, the plane starts two or three feets over the grount... and crash. Just reload until it falls ok.
The elevators displays inverted, alas, if you go up, they display as if you were going down. Is just a problem with the display, not with the handling.
The default Caravan panel starts ocupping all the screen. Use the mouse to drag down the upper side until it looks well.
I´m very sorry for all this bugs. Just remember, I'm a repainter. Has somebody a very good CN-235 model for repaint?

Information from cn235-95.zip:

CASA-Nurtanio CN-235 / Series 100
(in BINTER colors)

The plane:
---------
A sequel to the CASA C-212 "Aviocar" (the World's best selling aircraft of its
class ever), the CN-235 is the result of the desire for an aircraft of larger
size, but retaining the same philosophy of toughness and simplicity, as well as
versatility and cost-effectiveness. Also being a high-wing, twin turboprop
aircraft, its pressurized cabin, as well as a large rear freight door with
ramp, make it apt for many different kinds of service, either civilian or
military.

Capable of operating under severe conditions, it is optimal for accessing far
and/or isolated areas like islands (even without the normal infrastructures),
as well as craggy or inhospitable areas, being able to use runways in poor
condition and as short as 1200 m. (3900 ft).

First flown in Getafe (Spain) in 11-11-1983, there are several versions of the
plane (series 10, 100, 20, 200A, 200B), each incorporating minor improvements.
For civilian use, the series 100 (rendered here, see specifications within the
program) can carry 44 passengers plus a 3-people crew, or 5025 Kg. (11080 lbs)
of freight. For military use, it can carry up to 48 soldiers and take vehicles
on board directly by the rear ramp, which can be operated in flight to drop
freight, etc.

It has been succesfully sold in more than 20 countries, including the USA,
Canada, Mexico, Ireland, France, Sweden, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

The corporation:
---------------
The company behind the CN-235, CASA (Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A.), is
the most important aeronautical corporation in Spain. Apart from its own
reputable research and development works (with more than 80% of its production
exported), CASA is an essential member of the international consortiums Airbus
and Eurofighter, as well as the Arianespace society, and takes part in most of
the programs of the European Space Agency.

The CN-235 was designed, developed and built by CASA in cooperation with IPTN
Nurtanio, the Indonesian national aircraft factory, in a 50-50% arrangement,
with a compensation to CASA in return for the transference of technology.

The airline:
-----------
BINTER, the airline rendered in this design, is an affiliated company of IBERIA
(the Spanish national airlines), founded in 1988 and based in Madrid (Spain).
It consists of two branches, BINTER-Mediterraneo (found here), which covers the
area between the South of Spain (Valencia, Granada, Malaga, Almeria) and the
North of Africa (Melilla), and BINTER-Canarias, which covers domestic flights
between the Canary Islands. Both branches use regularly the CN-235 (about 4
units each), but BINTER-Canarias does also use some ATR-72 and even DC-9.

Notes by Alejandro Hurtado:

The CN-235 were being retired from Binter and replaced with ATR-72, with more capacity, when EC-FBC "Ciudad Autónoma de Melilla" had an engine failure and had to make and emergency landing on August 29, 2001 at Malaga airport. They were doing it well untill they rammed against a ground wall. It speeded his retirement.

I Tried to contact with OMC'99, and I had no answer. I hope they will be not upset with this repaint.

Warranty:
I love the warranty wrote by Andrew W. Hall:
"None. Zip. Nada. Use at your own risk. I don’t think
this will harm your computer in any way, but if it does, I
don’t even want to hear about it."

A last remark: Why don't become a repainter? There are a lot of planes with special markings. I'm tired of the usual F-16 low-vis scheme, or the usual 757 in Delta markings. Why don't a Tornado Tiger Meet or a serie of Easy Jet's 737s? The plane modelers like OMC'99 and Daniel Biosca are very important, but they can't make all the painting schemes by himselfs. So why don't help they?

Installation:

Just unzip c235ah13.zip in your "Aircraft" folder of FS2002, install your desired panel and that's all. If you don't know how to install a panel, just let the default Cessna Caravan one.
