Note:

The new design replaces my previous Brandis - Germany" scenery and uses accurate elevation to CFS world, I took some objects from wartime photos and old maps.

The "Brandis - Germany" scenery is totally fictional. I am only based on aerial photos and wartime (and current) maps, for represent the ME-163 airbase like it (may) have looked like in WWII last days.

*******************************************************************

This scenery places Runway, AFD menu entry, NDB beacon frequency, buildings, fields, trees and some ME-163 Komet to the airfield of Brandis - Germany.

I have still not visited Brandis. The runway data, heading, cordinates and buildings are designed using static macros after I saw the page http://www.sml.lr.tudelft.nl/~home/rob/me163.htm. about the ME-163 Komet.

The Messerschmitt Me 163B Komet was the only operational rocket-powered aircraft of the second world war. Its spectacular performance (both speed and climb rate) and dangers (because of the highly explosive rocket fuels) make it a fascinating piece of aviation history.

Between July 1944 - April 1945, Brandis was home of I./JG400 unit . After August 1944 also EK16 unit. Both equipped with the ME-163 Komet.

After the war Brandis was up to 1992 a Russian Air Force (VVS) base with a Sukoi 25 wing and a Mil MI-8, MI-17 and MI-24 wing.

Whatever you do, have fun with this. This kind of scenery would not be possible with the utilities-tools and support of Pascal Meziat, Jorn Judla, Tom Hiscox, Brian McWilliams, Martin "Wizard" Wright, Ralf Triebel and Manfred Moldenhauer. Thank you very much!

Installation:

Go to the CFS main scenery folder and make a folder named Brandis, under it make a sub-folder named scenery.

Unzip all BGL files directly to a Brandis/scenery/ sub-folder, and the textures_brandis.zip contents files to the main texture folder of CFS.

After unzipping the structure of that folders has to look exactly like this:

CFS ----
scenery
----- Brandis
-------- scenery
-------- texture

Go to CFS and start in freeflight. Add the scenery to the scenery-library
(World / Scenery Library) - Add Scenery.

The BGL path to enter is exactly:

=:\=\scenery\Brandis\SCENERY\*.BGL

You may copy and paste the line above!

Name the scenery "Brandis" and don't forget to _activate_ it by checking the box!

You can access the initial points by clicking GOTO Airport, the airfield is added to the CFS airfields list.

Note: For to see the texture of hangars and control tower, you must have installed the textures of Frankfurt Scenery of Ralf Triebel,Fürstenwalde and Schönwalde of Jorn Kudla in the main texture folder (included in brandis.zip).
