Boeing 747-70 real panel/flight deck by Jukka T Lahtinen, Helsinki Finland
For Boeing 747-100-200 and 300 series

This is my first panel I have published.

I tried very hard to make the flight deck as realistic as possible.
However, I had to make some compromises in order to make it easier to fly. And of course there are many imaginary solutions.

Most of the instruments are smaller than usually, resolution 1024x768.

CREDITS

It was much more difficult to find the authors for the gauges than build this panel. There are gauges from:

Staffan Ahlberg - FFG
Paul Golding - FPDA
Hans Hartman
Eric Ernst/FPDA
Glenn Copeland
Chuck Dome
Dai Griffiths
Wade Chafe

There are also few gauges from FPDA and HGHB without the name of the designers.

Many thanks for everybody to use permissions of their great gauges.

Special thanks to Olav Magne Rønningen (FPDA) and Paul Golding (FPDA). Also many thanks for good tips to Roy Chaffin (RCS) and of course many thanks to my Topias.

INSTALL

Just choose the panel folder of your 747-70. Unzip the 747-70 panel.zip and copy the supplied panel.cfg and all bmp files to this folder, and unzip and copy the 747-70 gauge.zip into your fs2000\gauges folder.

TIPS

When you start, move the yokes to the right places.

The main deck panel and main deck over (night lights) are used for cruising. Of course you can try to take off and land too. It is not too easy becouse the instruments are so small. The main deck wiew is from the co-pilot side.

Only choose the main deck panel when you have 747-70 main open. Choose switch 4 and close 747-70 main panel (SHIFT 1). Then move the wiew down (SHIFT ENTER, two or three times). Remember that when you choose some other wiews on the main deck situation you have to move the main deck panel down every time you return.

MY FAVORITES

My own favorite 747 is Project Open Sky Boeing 747-200 Garuda Indonesia PK-GSD. Boeing 747-400 Real Sound by Scott Schar is fantastic too. I only have chanced the wind sound wave file and it sounds now like a real 747-200 or 300.

WHAT NEXT?

I have many new realistic panels on my computer. MD 11 (I have visited a real MD 11 simulator last July, many take offs and landings), 747-400, Concorde and DC9/MD80. I hope that some day they are ready to fly.
