This aircraft, I believe, was the first commercial flight over the south pole, somewhere in South America to Australia. More than likely, She landed in Hobart then flew on to Brisbane on the way back to the USA.
I photographed the aircraft at Brisbane airport (YBBN ) in about 1957 / 8.
My Dad had driven me to the airport to have a look at this very special aircraft.
