Beech AT-11 KANSAN "Lite" for FS2004 Only V1.1 (Not recommended for FSX as the VC model is not a full aircraft)

by Milton Shupe, Scott Thomas, Damian Radice, Tom Falley, Gary Jones, and Friends

The AT-11 was the standard U.S. Army Air Forces World War II bombing trainer; about 90 percent of the more than 45,000 USAAF bombardiers trained in AT-11s.

This package contains 4 lite VC models (turret, observation bubble, capped turret, and civilian cargo) and 10 DXT3 texture sets, both the original 5 and the 5 international set. A paint kit is available at Avsim, Flightsim, Simviation and SOH.

Note: Damian Radice's textures can really be appreciated in the 32-bit format if you have a computer to run them. Give them a try to see the beauty he has graced us with. If your computer cannot handle the 32-bit texture load, then stay with this package of DXT3 textures without MIP MAPs.

FSX Users:

I know some of you will want to try this in FSX so we ensured fundamental compatibility in ACCEL Directx 9. However, we do not support any issues encountered in FSX.

FSX Port Over tests for props, textures, and flight model were conducted over 6 months.

There is a folder inside the AT-11 aircraft folder that contains replacement prop and window textures for FSX.

Features:

Yoke: Hide/unhide the yoke using the slash key

Doors: Use the standard shift+e, and the shift+e, 2 for the bomb doors

Taxi notes: Please lock the tailwheel for all taxi operations except parking/positioning.

Tailwheel steering: If you do not have pedals, you can change contact point.0 wheel deflection from 180 to 45 to make the tail wheel steerable. See the aircraft.cfg for instructions.

OPTIONS:

1. There are some load options in the aircraft.cfg. Simply change or comment out the weights.

2. The aircraft.cfg contact points section has two tailwheel setups; one castering, one steerable (default). Select the one you wish and comment out the other.

SOUNDS: Gary Jones published R-985 sounds just for this aircraft. You can search for other of Gary's sounds at ClassicBritishFiles or Avsim or Flightsim. You will not be disappointed with them.

I hope this helps.
