Bendix/King KX 155 NAV/COM system ver 1.0

Bendix/King description:
It always pays to plan ahead. And with the Bendix/King KX 155 NAV/COMM, "stay
ahead" frequency pre-planning is push button simple.

Both NAV and COMM frequency displays on these units incorporate the popular
"flip-flop" preselect feature. So, you can set up en route or approach frequency
changeovers well in advance of your actual transition point or ATC handoff
sequence for true "stay ahead" flight management.

Just select your upcoming NAV or COMM frequency in the "standby" (STBY) display,
and you’re all set to "flip-flop" it into "active" status at the press of a
button. This function may also be controlled from an optional remote mounted
switch.

Both "active" and "standby" frequencies are displayed simultaneously, so you
never have to worry about what’s being stored. And there’s no chance of
inadvertently erasing a frequency just when you need it most.

An innovative non-volative memory circuit holds all the displayed frequencies
in storage—through aircraft shutdowns or momentary power interruptions—without
the need for battery power of any kind.

Large, self-dimming, microprocessor-controlled gas discharge readouts and
solid-state electronic tuning provide fast, accurate selection of all 200 NAV
and 760 COMM frequencies — and the KX 155 feature a built-in 40-channel
glideslope receiver.

Description:
This gauge is a combined NAV/COM radio. It provides the traditional FS NAV and
COM features.

This gauge has functional buttons and knobs like the real instrument.

The buttons and knobs:
See the picture ExplKX155.bmp which gives an overview of the functions.

The power knob on the lower left side switches the radio on and off. Clicking on
the knob opens/closes the FS ATC menu.
You can have the power switch always set on and use a central avionic circuit
switch in your main panel to set the power of ALL radios in this package.

The <--> button on the left side swaps the COM frequency from standby to
frequency in use. Only the standby frequency can be changed.

The COMM selector knob on the left side of the radio has two parts: A large knob
and a small knob. The large knob increases/decreases the whole digits and the
small knob increases/decreases the fractal digits of the COM standby frequency.
Clicking in the center of the knob "pulls out" the small knob and controls
changes of 25kHz. When "pushed in" it controls changes of 50kHz.

The IDENT knob on the lower right side toggles the NAV sound of the Morse ident
code on and off. This knob interacts with the Bendix/King audio selector panel KMA 26
of this package.

The NAV selector knob on the right side of the radio has two parts: A large knob
and a small knob. The large knob increases/decreases the whole digits and the
small knob increases/decreases the fractal digits of the NAV standby frequency.

The <--> button on the right side swaps the NAV frequency from standby to
frequency in use. Only the standby frequency can be changed.
