FS2004/FSX Yak 3M-82 warbird.
=============================
The yak-3 and its derivates had a very long service life and many were used after the end of WW2. In an attempt to increase performance while avoiding the overheating problems of the VK-107 and VK-108 liquid cooled engine variants, the single "Yak-3M-82" was built,fitted with the Shvetsov M-82 two-row fourteen cylinder radial engine, used on the La-5 fighter, and first flown in May 1945. Performance was very good and the aircraft was extremely agile, but with jet fighters coming on line, there was no push to develop the concept further, and the project was abandoned in October 1945.
The prototype reached 682 km/h (424 mph) at 6,000 m (19,685 ft) and contributed directly to the Yak-11.
Many Yak-11 were later converted to Yak 3M look alikes by Raymond Capel who restarted production of the new plane in Romania to warbird standards.

Installation:
==============

-Unzip "Yak3M" into a temporary file and move the "Yak3M" folder into the main Aircraft directory.

-Read instructions carefully when installing the gauges, say YES...when asked if the gauges sources should be trusted. If you say no....most of the gauges are not going to work !
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-Leave the "instruments.Russ.cab" map in your panel folder.
-Put the WEP.gau into your Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\gauges folder. Let it overwrite another one, if you 're flying one of my earlier downloads.
-Copy the effects into the Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator X\effects folder.
-Copy the 20can.wav into the flightsim\sound folder
Effects
--------
-On startup there is automatic engine smoke.
-Then follow the exhaust flames with smoke.
-Wing vortex effect appears by default at 2.5g or quick roll rate(in FSX).
-Continuous blue flames with smoke if engine is running .
-War Emergency Power is controlled by the WEP.gau (Tick 1 or 0)
-Cannon with flash, smoke and falling cartridges can be triggered with the standard Strobe key (O).
It is much nicer however if you put the FS2004/FSX standard Strobe key (O) to the trigger from your joystick. You can change this in the Key menu.Experiment setting the stick trigger key for best results.Look at trigger.jpg for my settings.
It is a good idea if you replace the standard (L) key for lights by the L+CTRL, (normaly activating the landing lights only). This avoids you having to have all lights on when pulling the trigger. For the effects to work,lights have to be on at first.

Flying the model
================
This plane is a fast, non critical and a good aerobatic flying machine. From about 350 knots it becomes more noseheavy and wants to tighten the turns. Use trim to stabilise.

-CTRL+E opens the canopy
-Radiator flaps are opened by the close cowl key.
-WEP power boost to 70+ manifold pressure

TAKE-OFF :if you have manual rudder enabled, apply right rudder and brake when you hit the throttle .
Better apply throttle proportionaly and slowly at first.
1.Parking brake on, start engine, 1/4 flaps
2.Disengage parking brake
3.Hold enough rudder, brake to keep the aircraft straight
4.Take off at about 110 Knots, let speed build up, as the plane at first sinks back to the ground, wheels and flaps up at 130 Knots.
5.Approach at 25% flaps, wheels down at 120 Knots.
6.Touchdown at 70-80 Knots.
