Space City is located on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. See below.

You can place Fireball XL5 on the launch rail with this location
information... N28 17.02 W 14 7.75 Height 268ft Heading 98
Tower position is N28 17.00 W 14 7.75 Height 350ft

1. Place the Space City folder (and all subfolders) into your
Flight Simulator\Scenery Folder.

2. Ensure that Dynamic Scenery is enabled.
In FS2000 use Options -> Settings -> Display and then to subscreen
Image Quality and check Dynamic Scenery. Selecting density "normal"
is appropriate.

3. Activate the Space City scenery area.
In FS2000 under World -> Scenery Library add the folder Space City and
name it Space City.

Or this can be done more easily by adding the text below to the end of
your FS2000\SCENERY.CFG file which means you can add the flatten command
in at the same time as noted next.

4. In FS2000, the Space City area is not level. You can fix this by
flattening the scenery area. Edit the FS2000\SCENERY.CFG and add
the text given below. The AREA and LAYER number should be one higher
than the previous last entry in the file. The number 74 is just an
example below. Use the next higher number than the last one in your
SCENERY.CFG file.

Note also that the flatten command must all be entered into ONE SINGLE
LINE in your SCENERY.CFG file i.e. with no line breaks (even though one
may appears in the text shown below).

Note the ".0" on the end of "flatten" indicating this is
the first (zero based) flatten entry for the Space City
scenery area.

------ COPY THE TEXT BELOW TO THE END OF YOUR SCENERY .CFG FILE ------

[Area.074]
Title=Space City
Local=SCENERY\Space City
Active=TRUE
Layer=74
Flatten.0=250,N28 17 20,W14 10 36,N28 17 0.1,W14 7 30,N28 16 59.9,W14 7 30,N28 16 40,W14 10 36

------ COPY THE TEXT ABOVE TO THE END OF YOUR SCENERY .CFG FILE ------

See URL: http://www.microsoft.com/games/fs2000/articles_sceneryobjects.asp
for more full details of area flattening.

5. Run FS2000, and use Map View to place XL5 at the location given earlier.

Location of Space City

Space City is located on Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. The exact
location of Space City is not given within the TV series, nor in any of
the connected printed materials (although one episode gives a weak clue
to a south-eastern Pacific island location). However, it is known that
it exists in a sandy/desert landscape with hills in the distance, and
additionally it seems likely that it would be located:
- on an island (for secrecy/security purposes)
- in the equatorial zone (for efficient launching of spacecraft)
- with the launch rail heading east (for the same reason)

Taking this information together with availability of appropriate
existing locations in FS2000 scenery, the island of Fuerteventura in
the Canary Islands was selected for this scenery. Fuerteventura is the
least populated of the Canaries, with a predominantly sandy
landscape, and at 28 degrees north, is further south than Cape
Canaveral.

The length of the launch rail is also not given in the TV series, other
than that it is "over one mile" long. The rail length in this scenery
has been set to scale correctly with the XL5 aircraft.
