The Volkswagen Beetle was a funny idea at the beginning. With Gmax it was realised. I had to work hard on it, showing it is possible. His body was a difficult thing to do. I just had to find out, weather I am able to do this or not. It’s on You to decide, if I have been successful.

Features:
*********
Model works properly in FS2004 and FS2002.
This is a Volkswagen from 1951, called splitwindow because of the splitted rearwindow. It comes up with two versions:
The European version, painted in light green with numberplates from Germany (ABG = Altenburger Land).
The American version in friendly light blue with numberplates from Washington State. Other numberplates can be found in texture.alaska, texture.california, texture.florida, texture.NY, texture.texas.

There are shiny 32-bit textures, animations and a virtual cockpit. It has no opening doors, but the “winkers” can be used, when going the left or right way.
Shift + E for the right side,
Concorde nose down and up for the left side (You have to define the keys before).

This beetle even sounds like one.

Installation:
*************
Unzip the files in the main directory of Flight Simulator (provided you have that folder option ticked in your zip program)
If You want to change the numberplates, copy the two files in texture.alaska or another folder and paste them in the texture.american folder. The original plates are in the texture.washington folder. In that way You can use it with numberplates from Alaska, California, Florida, New York City and Texas. I guess, You don’t want to drive in Miami with numberplates from Washington State, will You?

Using the beetle in Flight Simulator:
*************************************
Steering wheel is used as a rudder. The beetle is not a race car and Flight Simulator can hardly simulate cars. But cruising with 60 to 80 Kilometers is very easy to do. It’s like moving a Cessna without wings.

With the L - key the lights are on. It has front- and backlights. The rear-numberplate is lighted.

With F7 the horn is working.
Start the engine with Strg + E, power off is with Strg + Shift + F1.

Startersound may be used from Bill Lyons Jaguar XK 120. Search for jag120.zip or jag04.zip. Copy starter.wav from the sound-folder and paste it into the sound-folder of that Volkswagen.
