FS2002 - Zeppelin VGO-III Riesenflugzeug 1917
---------------------------------------------
Stephan Scholz - January 2003

Installation:
-------------
Unzip and place the folder "VGO3" into theAircraft directory.
Unzip and place the gauges into the gauges folder.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
---------------
Do not attempt to edit the Aircraft.cfg file with FSEdit, as the engine parameters will be overwritten with FSEDit default values, and the file will be rendered useless. Use another editor like Notepad, or suchlike. There is FDE backup folder with copies in case of need.

The Virtual Zeppelin VGO-III:
-----------------------------
Made with Abacus Aircraft Factory 99 and animated with Abacus Aircraft Animator.
This model is based on lots of detailed information from various sources on the Internet

I had always been curious how this huge old plane would fly, and thanks to Aircraft Factory 99 and FDEditor, it has been possible to re-reate this giant, built almost 90 years ago. Its immense proportions and low power give it a totaly different flying sensation to what we are accustomed to nowadays in modern aircraft.

This aircraft is featured in early 1917 clear doped (tan) livery, and is equipped with 6x172 Mercedes D.III engines. There are two engines geared to one prop in the nose, and two tandem push-pull pairs in nacelles on the wings.

Flight Dynamics:
----------------
The Flight dynamics, (.air file and aircraft.cfg), have been written with help from FSAviator, especially for this plane, to prevent FSEditor from overwriting engine power parameters with higer-revved default values, which would render the files useless and alter the sound.

Note:
In those days these planes had no flaps, wheel-steering, spoilers or brakes... although this model did have pre-take-off elevator trim... In flight, it was throttle-trimmed, but I´ve left elevator trim in, to make level flight possible. Brakes are also available.

Panel:
------
The simple custom panel is based on a photo of the R:VI flight deck, as no pictures are available for the VGO-I open cabin.

The third party vintage gauges I could find, are unfortunately not as ancient as I would have liked...
Most gauges are by Bastian Hundt and Horst Weingärtner, and the RPM gauges are by HGHB.
The thrust gauges are engine 1, 2 and 3 gauges, to work the 6 engines of this aircraft in pairs, and are made by Brian Kostick and Jon Shepherd.

Sounds:
-------
Default Cessna C182 sounds, but the GothVsnd.zip custom sounds available for download are recommended, as they have been especially designed for the low RPM level of the engines on this model.

Animation:
----------
Abacus Aircraft Animator - Props, ailerons, steering wheel-yoke, elevator and rudders.

Legal stuff:
------------
This aircraft is freeware.
No responsibility is taken for any loss or damage incurred directly or
indirectly from its use. The original unaltered files may be freely
distributed, uploaded, downloaded and shared. Please maintain proper
credit, of course, and make no financial gain whatsoever.

Enjoy it!
