Sub panels button toggles/ 16 gauges in XML format for FS2002 only.

WHAT'S THIS ?

In FS2002 Microsoft provided us with the "SimIcons", these are switches that
allow easy pop-up/down of the default sub-panels. Alas there is nothing for
those who add more sub-panels (eg. stuff like AcsGPS). So i created my own set
of gauges for FS2002 in XML format, these will allow the pilot to have onboard
toggle switches for the added subpanels windows.

Very usefull for those (like me ;-) who fly using old joystick/yoke with limited
and or no buttons/programs features.

DISCLAIMER:

There is absolutely NO warranty or guarantee of any kind, expressed or implied,
for any problems arising from the use of these files. This includes, but is not
limited to, any hardware and/or software problems. Any use of these instructions
and the related files is at your very own risk...
I only tested these with the default FS2002 KingAir350 and all i can say is that
it works fine and did not harm neither me nor my machine.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Starting with any original panel.cfg file, first make a back up copy of it!
It is in the ..FS main folder/aircraft/(-your a/c folder-)/panel directory.

Then unzip the Toggles.zip inside the ..FS main/Gauges folder, this creates
a subfolder ..FS2k2\Gauges\Toggles (now this one shall contain the 16 XML files
and accompanying 16 BMP files).

Now go to edit your aircraft's panel.cfg (scroll down just a bit) :

In the section where you want this gauge to appear
(usually you will take the main window [window00])
after the last line, (remember to keep a blank line before the next section)
add the line :
gauge??=Toggles!Toggle?_Icon, ???, ???

- "gauge??" must bear the next free number in sequence
(eg. if your last is gauge23, then use gauge24)
- "Toggles" is the name of the toggle gauges folder ("FS2002/Gauges/Toggles" by default)
- "Toggle?_Icon" is the name of the gauge to be used (eg. Toggle05_Icon)
- "???,???" are the X.Y coordinates where you want the switch to appear on the panel

These gauges can be placed almost anywhere to suit your needs and prefs, maybe on the border
of your main panel or on top, just as you like it !!

Here's an example for the KA350 :

[Window00]
file=Panel_Background_640.bmp
file_1024=Panel_Background_1024.bmp
// size_mm=640,344
size_mm=640
window_size_ratio=1.0
position=7
visible=1
ident=MAIN_PANEL

gauge00=KingAir!Avionics Switch, 2, 300
gauge01=KingAir!AutoFeather_Switch, 34, 300
gauge02=KingAir!AntiIce_Switch, 88, 300
gauge03=KingAir!Pitot_Switch, 130, 300
.............(only cut for smaller file do not remove from yours ;-)).............
gauge56=SimIcons!Map Icon, 437, 5
gauge57=SimIcons!Avionics Icon, 581, 5
gauge58=SimIcons!GPS Icon, 595, 5
gauge59=Toggles!Toggle01_Icon, 348, 5
gauge60=Toggles!Toggle02_Icon, 362, 5
gauge61=Toggles!Toggle03_Icon, 377, 5
gauge62=Toggles!Toggle04_Icon, 392, 5
..............(see above the added Toggles).............................................

==========================================================================================

Then edit each added subpanel ID (ident=xxxxx) must be set as follows :

Number Gauges:
Toggles01 to 08 : ident=10001 to ident=10008

Letter Gauges:
TogglesA to D : ident=10101 to ident=10104
TogglesX to Z : ident=10124 to ident=10126

Black Gauge :
TogglesBlack : ident=10127

Example (still from my KA350) :

[Window07]
file=AcsGps.bmp
size_mm=220,60
position=5
visible=1
ident=10001 //ACS-GPS_PANEL (note the required "//" to comment out)

gauge00=ACS.GPS98-GNC250XL,0,0,220,60

..............

KNOWN PROBLEMS:

- Do not use these icons to toggle the default sub-panels !!!!
(...and well, the default SimIcons do it very well you know ;-)

- Users of newest multi buttons joysticks or yokes might (even this is not guaranteed ;-)
encounter some config. problems or surprises, sorry can't provide any help...
(i still fly using an 8 years old 2buttons CH-Prod. Virtual pilot yoke)

XML gauges and BMP files made by me with inspiration from FS2002 default SimIcon gauges
i guess Microsoft will retain all their rights, and i do the same with mine, this is a freeware set for use on FS2002. Do not make money with it !!!

Credit to G.Halebardier and his gauges (name Hardland and Speedalert amongst others)
that's his work who started me looking inside these XML stuff.

Hope you enjoy it...
