This is a TCAS 2 radar screen for your MS Flight Simulator application. The TCAS 2 knowledge is based upon TCAS 2, version 7, as outlined by FAA Guidelines.

This display does not guarantee 100% collision safety. I am not held responsible for any aircraft damage (virtual or otherwise).

This is freeware, however I will accept any gracious donations in support of future development efforts. Please send donations of any amount to danniho@canada.com on PAYPAL at https://www.paypal.com

Thank you in advance for any support you can offer!

If you have questions/comments, feel free to email me!

REQUIREMENTS (can be found at http://www.simviation.com)
- Visual Basic 6 Runtime
- Directx 7 or higher
- FSUIPC 2.95 by Pete Dowson

INSTALLATION:
- Place all files from this archive into a new folder and run TCAS.exe when MS Flight Simulator is running with FSUIPC installed.

DESCRIPTION of UNITS:
- Groundspeed on top-left of screen is shown in knots
- Current heading is shown in top middle box
- Altitude/Above Ground Level is shown in feet
- Vertical speed is shown in ft/min
- Radar orientation is always forward-up
- Up and Down arrows are shown next to the traffic if climb/descend rate exceeds 600 ft/min.
- Number above or below traffic symbol is altitude difference in hundreds of feet.
- LAT is GPS latitude of current position
- LON is GPS longitutude of current position

TCAS range Buttons:
- '+' increases TCAS radar range
- '-' decreases TCAS radar range

VSI SCALE:
- Displays the vertical speed of aircraft, with maximum shown range of +/- 5000 ft/min.

TCAS WARNINGS:
- Traffic Advisories (TAs) and Resolution Advisories (RAs) are displayed on the radar screen and announced.
- The VSI will light up with the safe vertical speed range in order to avoid the potential collision.

TCAS LOGS:
- All TCAS logs will be placed in the directory from which TCAS.exe is run. This function is toggled by the Checkbox 'Log TCAS Data' in the menu screen

TCAS MENU (Activated by 'M' button)
- Always Show On Top: check to have TCAS 2 on top
- Show Tail No.s: This will show tail numbers of traffic in D1 display mode
- VSI: This toggles showing of VSI scale on the right side
- ALT/AGL: This toggles between altitude relative to sea level or above ground level at current position
- D1: This display mode shows regular TCAS symbols
- D2: This shows Loss of Separation value in Seconds, with heading of traffic and their protected volumes
- D3: This shows other traffic in a time scale, instead of distance scale. Traffic with ETA < 2 minutes will be drawn in the radar scope

TRAFFIC TRACKER TOOL
- This feature allows tracking of virtually any combination of aircraft traffic with colour identification
- Type any text within the 'Tracker' text boxes. If this text string is part of any traffic callsign in radar range, traffic will show up in the corresponding colour code
- Eg. if you want all 'Orbit' aircraft to show up orange, type 'Orb' or 'orbit' or 'rbit' in 'Tracker1' textbox. Try it for yourself!

OPEN ISSUES:
- When you are too close to a nearby aircraft, the RA algorithm will give seemingly sporadic advice. This is due to extremely close proximity and resulting algorithm sensitivity.
