FS2004 Douglas TBD-1 "Devastator"

I don't know why it took me so long to do this model; I love the pre war Navy paint jobs and the TBD-1 had a lock on those as there was a squadron assigned to every active aircraft carrier. The Devastator was a good torpedo bomber for its day, but was totally outclassed by the time WW2 started. Witness the sad tale of Torpedo Squadron 8 at Midway.
This model is painted for the CAG of VT-2 assigned to the USS Lexington in the 1938 - 1939 time frame. (Looks good on my Pre - War Lexington!) It has th usual animations plus folding wings, working tail hook, and a retracting rear gun. The gun works with the canopy slide; you might have to make a control assignment for the wing fold and tail hook animation. I use shift+F for the wing fold and shift+T for the tail hook. The 2D panel and VC are based on a photo I found on the net. Many thanks to Mick Morrissey for providing me the VT-2 squad marking.
This is a FSDS2.24 project and has been compiled directly into FS2004. I have not tried it in any other simulator.

INSTALLATION: Unzip TBD1.zip into a temporary folder. Copy the file Douglas TBD-1 into the aircraft folder of FS2004. The gauges are all default, BUT, you must copy the Lockheed_Vega gauge.cab file from the Vega panel folder into the Gauges folder of FS2004 if you haven't already done it. Otherwise they won't show. That's it, the Devastator will show in the Aircraft Selection table as TBD-1 under Douglas.

LEGAL: This project is released as freeware. You may modify it, repaint it, etc., upload to another website as long as it is not for profit. You need my written permission to use any of these files for commercial purposes; otherwise just give me credit for the original design. This airplane should not hurt your computer but I am not responsible if it causes problems.
