This version off the M400 is for FS2004 only
the New version off Microsoft FS A Century of Flight.
There are extra displays (windows) you can use in the 2D and
3D panel..
The windows
Shift 1 = Main_panel
shift 2 = GPS view
shift 3 = Radio Stack
shift 4 = Dual Monitor
shift 5 = KompasHDSEL
shift 6 = Radar
shift 7 = Hud system
You can undock all windows.
Also there the standaard MAP view ATC window and Kneeboard
(this window) you find them in the icons or window_control
you can go forward and backwards in this plane.. see Kneeboard
for the right commands.
In both cockpit mode the 2D and virtual window you can raise or
lower your seat by using : shift enter or shift Backspace
To turn the engines on you can use the switch start or ctrl+e
it is also very usefull to assign a button of your control to engine
shutdown.
You can use autorudder but it works better with rudder (YAW) controls.
Nose leveling and rudder control are very important in this sim.

When flying manual. Use your ruddercontrols if you have one,
for making sharp turns, with wing lever on you can make sharp
horizontal turns.
This sim is very stable so Rooftop landing is possible. ENJOY
this model is 100% VTOL
You can fly the m400 as a normal plane and land as a normal plane
take 55 kts for landing speed.
You can also use the car for driving on road.
Switch off the engines for complete stop.
The virtual cockpit layout is a little different than the 2d panel.
I had my reasons for that.
So lets try to move the car..
-----------------------Taxing and driving on the roads-------------------------------
First switch engines on NO TROTTLE
aplly some little trottle and at the same time push the stick a little forward
the car will move (drive) forward.pulling the stick gently will drive backwards.
increase or decrease your trottle for the driving speed you want.
use your rudder and left and right brakes for making good turns
you have to practice a little bit with the brakes... but it is not difficult.
It is usefull to assign two buttons for left and right brake.
if you apply a wing lever see the autopilot you can driver more
stable.
you know now how to taxi... and drive so lets Hover a little bit.
------------------------ Hovering above the ground ---------------
Engine on Trottle idle (no trottle)
keep the plane level and apply some trottle thats all to hover
you can hover 20 centimeter above the ground or hang still.
You also can use the auto hover mode see the map how to fly
It will take some practice but ... Thats the fun of it.
Now you can hover.... Lets fly
--------------------------Flying the M400----------------------------------------
First get into hovering mode see above.
apply full trottle and rise to 1000 ft. or more
retract your front gear
aply trottle in full trottle mode you see the engine pods move forward.
Well this is the easy flying now lets go into high speed
cruise mode.
at 1000 feet click the speed booster if you where flying 60 kts with speed booster 2x
you get 120 with 4x you get 240 ect.
In controled flights use the GPS to fly from A to B.
Used after flightplanner settings.
------------------- Landing the M400 --------------------------------------------
First pick your place to land.
When you are almost there then reduce your speed to 40 kts by moving the stick backwards
it handles like a very stable helicopter.
at 40 KTS and below 900 ft. you can use the auto hover. use your Yaw control to keep
the skycar still
Also here goes... A little training... is nececary... Good Luck and
save landings.
If you do it manual then keep in mind that with a little wrong manouvre
at 0.0 kts you can get into a spin.. The only way out is then a rest flight.
Your ceiling is 30.000 you can go above that at your one risk.
but it gives some nice ice effects.
Do not land with your gear up (ha ha) you will crash.
1. Parking Brake OFF
2. Heading Bug Top index
3. Stabilization ON [SHIFT+R]
4. Hover 10 ft
5. Take Off
Use the BRAKE button as a FORCE TRIM RELASE
You can also Take Off without the stabilization,
but this is much more difficult depending on
your FS realisim setting.
6. When reaching 200 ft/GND and 40 KIAS you
can switch on the "Higher Order Modes"
Push the Heading knob and the V/S
adjust a nice climb. Then adjust
ALT.A (Altitude aquired) to the
desired Altitude. The helicopter
will level by its own.
7. If you want to fly an ILS you have to
fly with HDG the intercept. Arm the
localicer with the APP button.
The glideslope will be armed normaly
when the localicer is captured be
pressing the G/S button.
The helicopter will level at 82ft/GND
and will fly the present heading like
the real one.
8. You can activate the CR.HT (cruise height)
mode above 200ft/GND and you can decent
down to 10 ft/GND in connection with a
direction mode.
9. To decouple the "Higher Order Modes" press
[Z]
10. When on Ground switch off the stabilization
[SHIFT+R]
The autopilot is active on 3 axis which means
you have to have two modes active to make it work.
You can use the autopilot with any other helicopter.
Put the as532_afcp.gau in your panel.cfg.
Add the following to your aircraft.cfg and the
autopilot will work.
