This repaint of Cryingtotos' Seafire mk.III represents a Seafire mk.III aboard the Escort carrier H.M.S. Atheling, which was lost in the Indian Ocean on 29th June 1944 during a collision on the flight deck when the aircraft landing behind it missed the barrier and crashed into it. the pilots of both aircraft were killed and three members of the flight deck party lost their lives.
