1/6/00

Here's the FS2000 version of my popular automatic elevator trim gauge.
It's identical to the FS98/CFS version except that this one displays the soft
pink night lighting particular to FS2000. To install, simply copy the
enclosed AUTOTRMP.GAU file into the\GAUGES subfolder of FS2000. Those who
understand panel structure may then use the gauge in any panel. Those who
don't may use the included PANEL.CFG file, which replaces the default Mooney
Bravo IFR panel. Just replace the existing file in the \MOONEY_BRAVO\PANEL
subfolder with this one. You may wish to save a backup copy of the existing
PANEL.CFG first.

USING THE GAUGE:
---------------

Clicking the "AUTO" button at the top toggles it on and off. Clicking in
the middle of the gauge resets the trim to zero. It should replace the
existing trim gauge whenever possible. When the gauge is "on," the trim is
connected to the joystick/yoke. Whenever you are pulling back on the stick,
the trim moves gradually upwards. Likewise, it moves downward when the stick
is pushed forward. The trim moves faster as the stick approaches its
extremes. When the stick/yoke returns to the neutral position, the trim
indicator stops moving. While the gauge is on, the trim will still respond
to keyboard input.

I find this gauge to be helpful when flying with the autopilot off. It
keeps me from feeling like I'm "fighting" with the trim. It's particularly
helpful during takeoff and landing. Adjusting the pitch trim with joystick
movements reduces the workload of one hand. I hope others appreciate this
little gauge as much as I do.

I hereby declare this gauge to be in the Public Domain. Anyone may use it
for any non-violent purpose, including commerce, without permission. You
don't need to acknowledge me as the original designer, but it would be nice.
If you happen to make any money from it, feel free to send me some. The
gauge should not harm your computer but, if you imagine it has, I accept no
liability.
