FS2002 PRO MD11 Alitalia
Created by Capt. I. D'Attomo, repainted in Alitalia livery using the .mdl and textures with permission by the original author Peter Salzano.

My final target has always been to produce panels as close as possible to the real aircraft, and with this package I think I almost reached my goal, even if I had to use lots of gauges that don't match exactly with the real ones, i.e. many default FS2k2 gauges.

This panel has been created with continuous reference to an official Alitalia panel layout I own, and aiming to obtain the highest fidelity with the real, things may look rather complicated and need a certain amount of practice to avoid dramatic situations while flying, but I'm sure that after some attempts the simmers will enjoy using it.
I would suggest to read carefully the .txt files and have a look to the .jpg's which are part of the downloaded MD11 file.

NOTE 1

THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS A FEATURE ALLOWING YOU TO HEAR CREW DIALOGUES AND TO PERFORM VERY REALISTIC PUSHBACKS. SINCE ITS USE IS QUITE UNUSUAL, YOU MUST READ CAREFULLY THE ENCLOSED 'CrewDialogReadme.txt'.
THE WAV FILES MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE .TXT MUST BE DOWNLOADED FROM http://www.acsoft.ch ("Produits" chapter) AND PLACED AS INSTRUCTED, OTHERWISE YOU WON'T HEAR ANYTHING.
I PLACED THE LITTLE WINDOW CONTAINING THE THREE BUTTONS FOR THE DIALOGUES AND PUSHBACK JUST IN THE LOWER RIGHT SIDE OF THE PANEL : IT IS IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE WHEN THE MAIN PANEL IS DISPLAYED, BUT IT IS NOT VERY LARGE SINCE IT IS NOT PART OF THE REAL MD11 PANEL.

NOTE 2

One more interesting feature of this panel is an FMC gauge providing lots of useful flight informations and aural calls, like i.e. actual A/c weights in Kgs.,T/O and LDG speeds, gear, flap positions calls and so on. Just remember to choose the MD11 A/c clicking on the first line showing several types of A/c's at each click, sorted by type.
The Wav files needed to hear the above crew calls are all included in the 'Sounds.zip' of this release and must be placed as indicated in the Installation procedure below..

WARNING: IF YOU DON'T SELECT THE CORRECT TYPE OF AIRCRAFT YOU'LL GET WRONG FIGURES AND CALLS! EVEN WITH THE CORECT CHOICE, YOU SHOULD HEAR A LOUD HORN PLAYING, INDICATING YOU ARE IN THE WRONG T/O CONFIGURATION: JUST SELECT T/O MODE AND SET THE FLAPS DOWN UNTIL THE HORN STOPS! AT THIS POINT, SET THE STABILIZER TRIM TO 10-14 NOSE UP AND YOU ARE READY TO GO. I RECOMMEND A VERY SMOOTH ROTATION, REACHING THE PROPER T/O ATTITUDE OF ABOUT 10°-15° IN THREE SECONDS TO AVOID STRIKING THE TAIL AGAINST THE GROUND.
YOU CAN USE THE CREW DIALOG FEATURE AND THE FMC AT THE SAME TIME, PROVIDED YOU SET ON THE PUSHBACK PANEL A V2 LOWER THAN VR (See 'CrewDialogReadme.txt'), IN ORDER TO AVOID DOUBLE/OVERLAPPING CALLS FROM THE TWO SYSTEMS WORKING TOGETHER DURING TAKEOFF!

INSTALLATION

It's very simple: I provided an exe file using the 'Install Maker' program by 'clickteam.com', so just double click on the exe, select the directory where you have your FS2002 when prompted and everything will be installed in the right place.
Please don't forget to also unzip the included 'gauges.zip' and 'sounds.zip' files extracting their whole contents into the FS2k2/main Gauge and Sound folders respectively.
That's all.

CREDITS

I deeply thank all the following Authors: without their beautiful work it would have been very hard for me to produce this aircraft:

First of all, Mr Peter Salzano, for his beautiful mdl and textures and his kind permission to repaint given to me.
All the gauges Programmers (so many it would be too long to name them all!).
By the way, my best congratulations to Mr. Tom Corson, programmer of the TC.FMC.gau !
Last but not least, some good friends of ALITALIA Training Center who supplied me the essential technical paperwork to let me create an almost real aircraft.
