Jammu and Kashmir Airports - SCENERY FOR FS2002 - Drammen 10 April 2004
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scenery of 6 high altitude airports in the Western Himalaya, the northern parts of Pakistan and India, regions Jammu and Kashmir. At the airport of Thoise (alt. 10499ft) there actually is a signboard: "Oxygen in the air is 30 percent less but 100 percent pure." Small jetliners are welcome; the runways are long, and the approaces are challenging.
The airports are Gilgit (OPGT), Skardu (OPSD), Chilas (OPCL), Thoise (Z13Q), Srinagar (VISR) and Shimla (VISM).
AFCAD and VoicePack files included.

The airports are real (also in the standard FS2002 scenery), but I have added buildings, vehicles, taxiways, parking and ATC. Due to lack of photos of the airports in this areas, the buildings are not authentic.

The scenery will work with FS2004, but the AFCAD and Voice are incompatible.

CONTENTS

The ZIP file contains the following folders/files:

- Jammu_Kashmir\Scenery, BGL files
- Jammu_Kashmir\Texture, texture files
- afcad, airport data for ATC (taxiways, parking and comm. frequencies)
- Agent Names, Voice\Names.vcpmod for airports not included in FS2002
- ICAO, Voice\Code.vcpmod for airports not included in FS2002
- Readme_Jammu_Kashmir.txt, this file
- Jammu-Kashmir Map.jpg
- Jammu_Kashmir_Airports.txt file for your AI traffic planner.

INSTALLATION

1. The scenery.
- Un-zip the Jammu_Kashmir folder to the FS main Scenery folder, or a folder of your own choice.
- Start FS2002 and select WORLD and SCENERY LIBRARY
- Select ADD AREA and SELECT SCENERY DIRECTORY
- Find the Jammu_Kashmir Folder where you installed the scenery (browse) and add it.

2. AFCAD files.
To make use of these files you will need the AFCAD program of Lee Swordy available at this site.
The simplest way is to use the AFInstaller.exe program (click and drag), also available at this site.

3. AI traffic
If you want to make AI traffic I assume you are familiar with the tools and procedures to do it (ref. TTools from Lee Swordy, at this site). In this case you will need to add the entries in the enclosed Jammu_Kashmir_Airports.txt to the Airport.txt file created by TTools.

4. Agent names/ICAO Codes.
To add voice you should be familiar with the use of EditVoicepack, Version 2.0 released 2002-09-27, available at this site.

UNINSTALL

- Start FS2002 and select WORLD and SCENERY LIBRARY
- Disable the Jammu_Kashmir scenery.
- Select DELETE AREA .
- Close FS2002 and find the folder where you installed the scenery and delete it.
