ABOUT THE AIRPORT:

Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport (KBHB) serves Bar Harbor and Hancock County and is owned by Hancock County. The airport has more than one runway. The longest is a paved runway extending 5200 feet. The facility is at an elevation of 84 feet at a distance of about 8 miles from Bar Harbor. The airport is conveniently located half way between the City of Ellsworth and the Town of Bar Harbor. Overlooking Mount Desert Narrows, Frenchman Bay and Mount Desert Island with the prominence of Cadillac Mountain in the background, the airport offers spectacular views. The recreational possibilities within a short distance of the airport are almost unlimited.

With the 46,000 acres of Acadia National Park less than 3 miles from the airport, visitors will certainly find something to enjoy. For ground transportation access, the airport is located just off State Route 3. With scheduled airline services, the airport is the closest commercial service airport to Washington County and Maine’s Downeast coastal country. Modern facilities, state of the art instrument landing systems and a full range of services combine to make Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport a safe and efficient year round airport with a very high rate of reliability.

Airport Operational Statistics:

Aircraft based on the field: 44
Single engine airplanes: 38
Multi engine airplanes: 4
Gliders airplanes: 2

Aircraft operations: avg 116/day
Transient general aviation 42%
Local general aviation 40%
Commercial 16%
Military 1%

ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This scenery was done by request and when I can which is not often, I will do requests. So first off, I would like to thank and give credit to Scott Hayden who sent some pics of the airport. Again, I tried my best with what little knowledge I have of scenery design. Hope you enjoy this one.

ABOUT THE AIRCRAFT:

The startup aircraft I used for this scenery is the Cessna Citation X by Chuck Dome zip file ctnx04. This craft is also used as one of the AI aircraft. Here is the AI aircraft list.

AC# Type Livery Zip File
83 JS41 Jetstream US Airways js41a2k2
128 Cessna Citation X ctnx04
129 Cessna Skylane 108R RG c182rg04

All other aircraft in the flight plans are default aircraft. Keep in mind that my AC#'s may be different from yours.

According to the Bar Harbor website, only the US Airways carrier is listed as serving the airport in a commercial capacity. Other flights are charter or private flights.

INSTALLATION:

Hopefully I've made this step by step installation guide user friendly. If there is any part you don't understand, fell free to email me and I will try to assist you the best I can.

Again, I hope you have unzipped the kbhb_v1 zip file to a temporary folder and are reading this readme file now.

Step 1. Set your unzip utility to use/create folders, then unzip the kbhb_scen.zip file to the drive where your FS2004 is located.
Results of step 1: A folder named fs2k4_scenery\kbhb\scenery should be created on your drive. In the scenery sub-folder should be the *.bgl files. Also, the start-up files ME - Hancock Cty-Bar Harbor.FLT and ME - Hancock Cty-Bar Harbor.WX should be in the My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder and the AF2_KBHB.bgl file should be in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder of FS2004 (or however you named the folder where your flight simulator is located.)
Step 2. Open the KBHBFLTPLN.txt file and copy the contents to the flightplansxxxxxx file in Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2 (If you don't have traffic tools, you can download it from SurClaro) Download all necessary aircraft and install them into FS. Now add them to the Aircraftxxxxxx file in traffic tools as per the Readme file of TTools. Don't forget to change the AC#'s in the flightplans file for kbhb to follow sequence with the AC#'s in YOUR traffic tools Aircraft file.
Step 3. Download and install Lee Swordy's AFCAD v2.11. Open AFCAD and enter the Tools menu and select the Aircraft Editor. There, for each aircraft used in the scenery, designate the livery. If the livery is not available, designate the type of parking. For example Cargo, or C or Mil_cargo or MR etc. This will help assign the aircraft to the proper parking space. You may not need to assign spaces for a small ga airport.
Step 4. Start FS and select settings, then Scenery Library. Now select Add Area and install the scenery in the usual manner. Now shut down FS.
Step 5. Re-start FS and this time select Select a Flight. At the top select My Saved Flights. At the bottom, find NJ - Somerset Airport and highlight it and click OK.
Step 6. Have a happy and safe flight.

I hope I didn't leave anything out. You can email me at the address below for comments/questions. I will try to answer as soon as possible and as many as possible.
