ABOUT THE SCENERY:

This is the "sister city" to my last scenery creation, Portland International Jetport in Maine. Portland International in Oregon is a much largest facility. The terminal by Microsoft was close to reality and for some reason, I could not exclude the terminal without losing the entire layout of the airport. This happens in some cases so I had no choice but to work with the existing terminal. All other buildings have been replaced using FSDS2. The only modification to the existing are the jetways. This scenery will require the use of the ASDv2.1, Nova and Nova Gold textures. The parking spaces and the air traffic have been altered therefore, Traffic Tools v2 and AFCAD v2.04 or higher must be install on your system. All of the above are downloadable for free from SurClaro.

I created the flight plans for the scenery using a variety of aircraft that are , in real life, found at Portland Intl Oregon. Though I did not go by a real time schedule, the flights should be interesting. Below you will find a list of the aircraft and liveries I used for the scenery. You can download the aircraft, or any similar aircraft you wish to use, from SurClaro. The help file for Traffic Tools v2 will show you how to install the aircraft for use as AI aircraft.

I hope you enjoy this scenery. Happy flying!!!

INSTALLATION:

Hopefully I've made this step by step installation guide user friendly. If there is any part you don't understand, fell free to email me and I will try to assist you the best I can.

Again, I hope you have unzipped the kpdx_v1 zip file to a temporary folder and are reading this readme file now.

Step 1. Set your unzip utility to use/create folders, then unzip the kpdx_scen.zip file to the drive where your FS2004 is located.
Results of step 1: A folder named fs2k4_scenery\kpdx\scenery should be created on your drive. In the scenery sub-folder should be the *.bgl files. Also, the start-up files OR - Portland International....FLT and OR - Portland International....WX Should be in the My Documents\Flight Simulator Files folder and the AF2_KPDX.bgl file should be in the Addon Scenery\scenery folder of FS2004 (or however you named the folder where your flight simulator is located.)
Step 2. Open the KPDXFLTPLN.txt file and copy the contents to the flightplansxxxxxx file in Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools v2 (If you don't have traffic tools, you can download it from SurClaro) Download all necessary aircraft and install them into FS. Now add them to the Aircraftxxxxxx file in traffic tools as per the Readme file of TTools. Don't forget to change the AC#'s in the flightplans file for kpdx to coincide with the AC#'s in YOUR traffic tools Aircraft file.
Step 3. Download and install Lee Swordy's AFCAD v2.11. Open AFCAD and enter the Tools menu and select the Aircraft Editor. There, for each aircraft used in the scenery, designate the livery. If the livery is not available, designate the type of parking. For example Cargo, or C or Mil_cargo or MR etc. This will help assign the aircraft to the proper parking space.
Step 4. Start FS and select settings, then Scenery Library. Now select Add Area and install the scenery in the usual manner. Now shut down FS.
Step 5. Re-start FS and this time select Select a Flight. Find OR - Portland International Airport and highlight it and click OK.
Step 6. Have a happy and safe flight.

I hope I didn't leave anything out. You can email me at the address below for comments/questions. I will try to answer as soon as possible and as many as possible.
