Britten Norman BN2A Islander, G-BPCA "Capt David Barclay MBE"

Textures by Alistair Brydon

INSTALLATION:

You need to have installed the BN2 Islander by Marcel Kuhnt (eg: dilfa30.zip )

Then unzip this folder to a temporary folder of your creation. Place the .bmp file named "texture.bpca" in the main BN2 folder in FS2002.

Next copy and paste the contents of the text file "bpca" into the aircraft.cfg file in the main BN2 folder (its the one with the computer icon). You can open this using Microsoft word. Ensure that the first line [fltsim.X] is changed in sequence (eg; [fltsim.0], then [fltsim.1], [fltsim.2] etc..

If in doubt check the format is the same as one of the default aircraft such as the Cessna-172. Save the aircraft.cfg folder. I'm not aware of the limit to the number of paint schemes you can have per aircraft:- its at least 20.

Thats it...

Background: Originally registered G-BLNX, Loganair acquired it new in 1988, as G-BPCA. In 1993 it was repainted in the colours of the Scottish Ambulance Service. However, it carried-out dual roles as a passenger aircraft as well as an ambulance. (conversion only takes minutes). This aircraft was repainted in B.A. Chatham Dock/ Union Flag paint scheme in 2001.
The name "Capt David Barclay commemorates the pioneering Scottish pilot, who was Northern & Scottish Airways Chief Pilot in the 1930's, retiring from BEA in 1965. He founded many of the present-day airfields in the North & West of Scotland, and was a long-time ambulance pilot (still well-remembered in the Western Isles).

I am very grateful to Marcel Kuhnt for his excellent creation of this Islander model, and for agreeing to this repaint.
