Air California Textures by Gary J. Smith

Air California had initially operated Lockheed Electra L-188s from Orange County
Airport (now known as John Wayne Municipal Airport) starting in 1967. Jet
service was soon to follow with the (then new) Boeing 737. While waiting for
the initial delivery of the Boeings, Air California had operated
2 MCD DC-9-10s in the interim.

Ironically, Air California (later known as AirCal) would operate the
type again with a much larger fleet of MD-83s.
