Read the VC keyboard.doc or .pdf before you install in order to understand what to expect in this keyboard layout!

INSTALLATION.

Before you attempt to try out this configuration copy your FS2002.cfg file. The easiest way is to locate it in the FS2002 folder, right click on it, select copy, right click anywhere in the same window and select paste. That will give you a file named 'copy of fs2002.cfg'. Once you have that saved you can safely play with the FS2002.cfg file, knowing you can always rename the copy back to FS2002.cfg to restore your original settings.

If you fly almost exclusively in the VIRTUAL COCKPIT:

Open the Virtual.zip and replace your current FS2002.cfg file with the one in the zip. However, that will reset your display settings etc back to the FS2002 default. You will then need to set up the options again when you start FS2002.

A better way is to copy the text in FS2002-vc.txt and replace the same text in your FS2002.cfg file. Everything in [KEYBOARD_MAIN] and [KEYBOARD_SLEW] needs to be replaced. This option will leave your other settings such as display, sensitivities etc. intact. If you need to restore the defaults you can restore them from your saved FS2002.cfg file.

If you fly almost exclusively in the 2D COCKPIT:

Open the 2D.zip and replace your current FS2002.cfg file with the one in the zip. However, that will reset your display settings etc back to the FS2002 default. You will then need to set up the options again when you start FS2002.

A better way is to copy the text in FS2002-2D.txt and replace the same text in your FS2002.cfg file. Everything in [KEYBOARD_MAIN] and [KEYBOARD_SLEW] needs to be replaced. This option will leave your other settings such as display, sensitivities etc. intact. If you need to restore the defaults you can restore them from your saved FS2002.cfg file.

Be sure to print out the spreadsheet and have it handy for reference!

Thanks to Gary Geoghegan for his upload Fs-key-2.zip that prompted me to get this overdue project underway.
